With their soft texture and mild flavour, courgettes are brilliant for weaning and surprisingly good in baking too.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gentle on tiny tummies \u2013 soft texture and mild taste make them ideal for first foods<\/li>\n<li>Naturally nutritious \u2013 a source of vitamin C, potassium, and fibre<\/li>\n<li>Sneaky veg magic \u2013 adds moisture and subtle sweetness to cakes without overpowering<\/li>\n<li>Low in calories, high in goodness \u2013 a win for all ages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>From what age are they suitable for babies?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Courgette or zucchini is suitable as one of the first vegetables to start complementary feeding from the 6th month. It is mild, easily digestible, and very well tolerated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tip: <\/strong>Make sure to prepare your courgette as fresh and organic as possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serving suggestions for babies:\u00a0<\/strong>These may vary depending on your child&#8217;s age and abilities. For babies, zucchini should always be well-cooked and prepared gently. It must be washed thoroughly; peeling is optional but can help if the baby is particularly sensitive to the skin. Cut the zucchini into small sticks, boil, or steam until soft. This makes it easy to digest and ideal for small babies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes: <\/strong>Courgette are about 95% water, low in calories, and a source of vitamin C and potassium, both great for immune support. While it contains many important vitamins and minerals, it also contains fibre and natural plant compounds, which can sometimes cause bloating in sensitive stomachs if eaten in large quantities. Both names refer to the same vegetable, and if left to grow, it becomes a marrow!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What parts of a courgette are edible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The fruit: That\u2019s the part we all know \u2014 the green (or yellow) squash itself. You can eat it raw, cooked, grated, roasted, or baked.<\/li>\n<li>The skin: Thin and tender \u2014 no need to peel!<\/li>\n<li>The seeds: Soft and edible when the courgette is young. If it\u2019s grown into a marrow, you might want to scoop them out.<\/li>\n<li>The flowers: Especially the male flowers \u2014 they\u2019re a delicacy!
