I often get asked why I don\u2019t cleanse crystals with Selenite (Satin Spar). In this post, I\u2019ll share my personal reasons for avoiding this method and explain why I don\u2019t include it in my books or videos, plus what I prefer to do instead for cleansing crystals\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Can You Cleanse Crystals With Selenite?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In my YouTube video on safe ways to cleanse your crystals<\/mark><\/a>, <\/strong>some seem surprised that I didn\u2019t mention using Selenite to cleanse crystals. In fact, just lately between comments and emails, I seem to be asked about using this popular method several times a week\u2026<\/p>\n

It\u2019s quite hard to explain my reasoning in a comment online.<\/strong> And although I have covered this years ago in a blog post I did about Self-Cleansing Crystals<\/mark><\/a>, <\/strong>I feel I need to cover this in a separate focused post, here where I can direct people. I may also make a video in the future too.<\/em><\/p>\n

Is Selenite Self-Cleansing?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I\u2019ve always said since day one that I believe ALL crystals need cleansing<\/strong> and I meant it. I cleanse all my crystals, including Selenite (AKA Satin Spar<\/strong>). Selenite is a super powerful cleansing crystal but I feel that it still can hold negative or unwanted energy.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t ignore my ability to sense things or what the crystals have told me over the years.<\/p>\n

However, I am only human and we all have different experiences and opinions. This may come as a shock but the crystal community is divided on self-cleansing crystals. Even among those that believe, few agree on which ones<\/em>. Some people will use crystals like Selenite to cleanse crystals and some don\u2019t and that\u2019s okay.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I could be wrong about this but I would rather be on the safe side and cleanse all my crystals. Cleansing Selenite won\u2019t do any harm and I am cleansing other crystals anyway.<\/p>\n

Does Selenite Cleanse Other Crystals?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The short answer is, yes<\/strong>. But to me, ALL cleansing crystals will be able to cleanse anything or anyone that comes into contact with them. So, I am not saying Selenite can\u2019t cleanse your crystals<\/em>. My issue is more with the self-cleansing belief and practicality.<\/p>\n

Why I Don\u2019t Use Selenite To Cleanse Crystals<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If I were to leave my crystals on a Selenite slab or \u2018charging plate\u2019, then I believe some of that negative energy will be absorbed into the Selenite and remain afterwards<\/strong>. Simple solution? <\/strong>You might suggest I just cleanse the Selenite afterwards. But that\u2019s the problem. I now have TWO jobs<\/strong>, cleanse the crystals, then cleanse the crystal I used to cleanse the crystals\u2026<\/p>\n

What would happen if I used another Selenite to cleanse that Selenite? That would become a never ending cycle. How about I use another more traditional cleansing method, like smoke or sound to cleanse the Selenite slab after use?<\/em><\/p>\n

But, if I have the incense or the singing bowl that I believe cleanses crystals \u2013 why woudn\u2019t I just save myself the time and just use that cleansing method in the first place?<\/strong> I don\u2019t teach methods I don\u2019t use myself or that I feel are hard work.<\/p>\n

A Word About Overcomplicated Cleansing Methods<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I have had people suggest here and on my content that we bury our crystals in the earth for one month\u2026 That may well work but it\u2019s inpractical and unrealistic<\/strong> for most people. I think people overcomplicate things when there are so many simple, fast and effective methods to cleanse crystals. Be careful who you listen to online.<\/em>..<\/p>\n

What If You Like To Cleanse Crystals With Selenite?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You do you! <\/strong>I am not telling you what to do here, just sharing my perspective and practice with crystals. I only teach from experience and what I believe myself. Some people use this method and some don\u2019t. <\/p>\n
