Waiting feels like standing still while everyone else moves forward. It\u2019s the months or years of praying, hoping, and wondering if God has somehow forgotten your name on His list of blessings. Whether it\u2019s waiting for a baby, a spouse, a breakthrough, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/topical-verses\/healing-bible-verses\/\">healing<\/a>, the in-between space can test every ounce of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/topical-verses\/bible-verses-for-faith-in-hard-times\/\">faith<\/a> we have.<\/p>\n<p>I used to believe that once my prayers were answered, <em>then<\/em> I\u2019d have a reason to give thanks. But the Lord has gently taught me that gratitude isn\u2019t reserved for the harvest \u2014 it\u2019s also meant for the soil. Because it\u2019s in the soil where roots grow deep. And those deep roots? They hold us steady when life\u2019s storms come.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s Scripture says, <strong><em>\u201cThe Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>That verse isn\u2019t a passive promise \u2014 it\u2019s an active reminder that there is goodness even here, even now, for the soul who keeps seeking Him. Waiting isn\u2019t wasted when our eyes stay fixed on the One we\u2019re waiting for.<\/p>\n<p>I know this because I\u2019ve lived it. My journey to motherhood was one long, tender stretch of waiting \u2014 three and a half years of prayers, five heartbreaking losses, and more tears than I can count. Then, when my miracle finally arrived, she came early. What I thought would be the end of the waiting became a new kind of waiting \u2014 67 long days in the NICU, standing beside her tiny bed, waiting for the monitors to quiet, waiting for the doctors to nod, waiting for the moment I could finally hold her freely in my arms. That season taught me that even when the waiting hurts, God\u2019s presence holds steady. And that the miracle is not just what you receive at the end \u2014 it\u2019s who you become while you wait.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Waiting is often where God does His most tender work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re in a season of waiting right now, I want you to know you\u2019re not being punished \u2014 you\u2019re being prepared. The same God who parted seas and made barren wombs fruitful is the same God who sees you, right now, in your unseen, uncelebrated, in-between. He\u2019s not pacing Heaven,\u00a0wondering what to do next. He already knows. He\u2019s aligning things \u2014 in you and around you \u2014 so that when the blessing comes, your heart will be ready to hold it.<\/p>\n<p>But even before that moment comes, there\u2019s still beauty to be found here. Gratitude doesn\u2019t deny the ache \u2014 it invites God into it. When we thank Him\u00a0in\u00a0the waiting, not just\u00a0after\u00a0it, something powerful happens. Our focus shifts from what\u2019s not good right now to who is good. You stop striving for good to happen in the circumstance you\u2019re waiting for, and you instead focus on the good Father with you in the middle of it.<\/p>\n<p>So today, instead of asking God \u201chow much longer,\u201d maybe we can ask, \u201cwhat are You teaching me here?\u201d Instead of resenting the pause, we can thank Him for the growth it\u2019s producing. Because one day, when the waiting ends, we\u2019ll look back and see that the very season we wished away was the one that grew us the most.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Let\u2019s\u00a0Pray:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Father, thank you for being with me in the waiting. Thank\u00a0you\u00a0for the ways you\u2019re working, even when I can\u2019t see it. Forgive me for the moments I\u2019ve doubted\u00a0your goodness or tried to rush ahead of\u00a0your\u00a0plan. Teach me to find peace right here \u2014 not in what\u2019s coming next, but in knowing you\u2019re already here with me.<\/p>\n<p>I choose gratitude today, even in the middle of uncertainty. Thank you for the ways you\u2019re shaping my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/topical-verses\/bible-verses-for-faith-in-hard-times\/\">faith<\/a>, deepening my dependence, and strengthening my trust. Thank you that your delays are not denials, and you do not withhold good from those who walk with you.<\/p>\n<p>Help me to rest, to release control, and to remember that you\u2019re not late \u2014 you\u2019re right on time\u00a0\u2014\u00a0your perfect time,\u00a0which is better than mine. I praise you in advance not only for the answered prayers that are coming but for the sacred lessons you\u2019re writing into this chapter right now.
