When I explain it to people I compare it to Bitcoin but with completely invisible transactions.<\/p>\n<p>These are <strong class=\"markup--strong markup--p-strong\">Monero\u2019s advantages over Bitcoin<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"postList\">\n<li id=\"f6fc\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--p\">Transactions are private. You can share your public key with people without the fear of anyone looking at your funds and transactions in a blockscanner somewhere.<\/li>\n<li id=\"d0ac\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">On IP-level Monero uses <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--li-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/getmonero.org\/resources\/moneropedia\/kovri.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-href=\"https:\/\/getmonero.org\/resources\/moneropedia\/kovri.html\">Kovri<\/a>. A technique to prevent others from sniffing your network\/internet data. This way it\u2019s even more impossible to understand who made a transaction at what time.<\/li>\n<li id=\"e121\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Monero offers a <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--li-anchor broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/getmonero.org\/technical-specs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">dynamic blocksize<\/a>. That means no hard debates (or wars) over who has the best scalability solution for the network. If more people use Monero and bigger blocks are needed code is law. Miners will increase the blocksize following a very clear calculation which can not be doubted by anyone.<\/li>\n<li id=\"ae6d\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Monero is fast. With a new block every 3 minutes your transaction should be confirmed faster than with the 10 minute blocktime Bitcoin uses.<\/li>\n<li id=\"a619\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Monero is more ASIC-proof. This means that the average user can still mine some XMR using a GPU or even CPU. If there would ever be a \u201chard fork\u201d planned by some group to take over Monero even the users (so not only the miners) can prevent this from happening.
