At their best, they feel like a lottery ticket with far better odds: small upfront cost with a huge potential upside.<\/p>\n<p>But the catch is that options also strap a ticking clock to your trades. You can be completely right about the thesis and still lose everything because the market was slow to catch on.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d rather own deep-value stocks with the same kind of asymmetry\u2026 but without the expiry date. That way, your challenge is merely staying the course. The risk isn\u2019t running out of time \u2014 it\u2019s running out of patience.<\/p>\n<p>Take Greek stocks a few years back\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Priced at single-digit P\/Es, they looked almost terminal. The reality? They just demanded the one thing investors find hardest: patience. That\u2019s why we buy equities trading at generational lows\u2026 and wait. Eventually, the market tends to wake up (usually when everyone else has stopped paying attention).<\/p>\n<p>Options are for traders racing against time. It\u2019s really an energy story\u2026 and that\u2019s without even peering down the road, where the numbers start to get even more \u201cinteresting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI is planning to boost their electricity use by 125x over the next eight years to a mind\u2011boggling 250 gigawatts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/capitalistexploits.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36726\" srcset=\"https:\/\/capitalistexploits.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-2.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/capitalistexploits.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-2-300x210.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/capitalistexploits.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/image-2-125x88.jpeg 125w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>To put that into perspective, that would make just one AI company more power-hungry than all of\u00a0India.<\/p>\n<p>For further context, a typical nuclear power plant produces about 1 gigawatt. So, we\u2019re effectively talking about adding 250 nuclear plants \u2014 each requiring at least a decade to bring online (and that\u2019s assuming no greenies drag things out for another decade over the nesting rights of spotted owls).<\/p>\n<p>Nuckin\u2019 futs!<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s just OpenAI. Layer in what the likes of Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are gobbling up in data\u2011center capacity, and you don\u2019t exactly need a crystal ball to see where this is going.<\/p>\n<p>Now, all the cocktail\u2011party chatter is about the shiny side of AI.
