I began my career at ELGi in a space where I felt confident, comfortable, and within my comfort zone. But I\u2019ve always believed that real growth begins when we push beyond our comfort zone. Over time, I realized that true progress comes from taking on new challenges. For me, that challenge was stepping into Sales \u2014 a world that once felt unfamiliar but has now become an integral part of my journey.<\/p>\n
At ELGi, there’s always room to explore, collaborate, and grow. I seized those opportunities \u2014 working with cross-functional teams, participating in product launches, and engaging with the leadership team. It was intimidating at first. But every moment of discomfort was a moment of growth.<\/p>\n
One of the most significant turning points came when I was part of a strategic initiative that demanded quick thinking, direct customer interaction, and embracing unfamiliar territory. It wasn’t easy \u2014 I spent time in the field, understanding customer expectations and seeing how our products perform in real-world conditions. But the experience was invaluable.<\/p>\n
Stepping into Sales, especially in a new territory where even the culture was unfamiliar, meant shifting my perspective entirely. It required moving beyond what I was used to, adopting new approaches, and becoming comfortable with starting fresh.<\/p>\n
I travelled with my peers, learned from their experiences, and gradually gained an understanding of customer behaviour. That’s where the real learning happened. Salespeople, in many ways, are \u2014 adaptable, resilient, and focused. Drop them into new markets, unfamiliar industries, or sceptical customer environments \u2014 they find a way to build trust and deliver results. <\/p>\n
I couldn’t have done this alone. The support from my mentors, colleagues, and peers made all the difference. Their patience and encouragement gave me the confidence to keep moving forward. It’s a reminder that while the journey may feel personal, we never truly walk it alone. <\/p>\n
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this \u2014 you don’t have to be an expert to begin. You just need the courage to take the first step. Growth happens when we say yes to the unknown and trust ourselves to learn along the way.<\/p>\n
