{"id":309796,"date":"2025-11-21T23:29:22","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T23:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/recipes\/category-a-b\/blw\/spinach-and-pea-pesto-with-alphabet-pasta-for-baby-8-months\/"},"modified":"2025-11-21T23:29:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T23:29:22","slug":"spinach-and-pea-pesto-with-alphabet-pasta-for-baby-8-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=309796","title":{"rendered":"Spinach and Pea Pesto with Alphabet Pasta for Baby (8 Months+)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Today I\u2019m sharing a baby-friendly pasta recipe that\u2019s become a big favorite at home, and one that\u2019s perfect from 8 months old.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re giving the classic pesto a gentle twist, using spinach and peas to create a creamy, nutritious sauce packed with flavor and perfectly adapted for little ones.<\/p>\n<p>These tiny alphabet pasta shapes are ideal for helping baby discover new textures, and the result is a delicious, comforting dish, smooth, flavorful, and easy to eat.<\/p>\n<p>Bonus: it\u2019s a great way to introduce green vegetables early on, in a soft and tasty way.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>For one portion \u2013 approx. <strong>7 oz<\/strong> \/ <strong>200g<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>2.5 oz fresh spinach<\/strong> (70g)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2.5 oz peas, fresh or frozen<\/strong> (70g)<\/li>\n<li><strong>0.3 oz grated parmesan<\/strong> (8g)<\/li>\n<li><strong>0.35 oz dry alphabet pasta<\/strong> (10g)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2 to 3 fresh basil leaves<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>1 tsp olive oil<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\n<p>Start by filling a saucepan halfway with water. This will be used to cook the pasta and steam the vegetables simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>Wash the <strong>spinach<\/strong> thoroughly and remove the tougher parts of the stems. Rinse in 2\u20133 bowls of clean water to eliminate any dirt or sand. Place the spinach leaves in your steamer basket.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare the <strong>peas<\/strong>: if fresh, shell and rinse them. Frozen peas are fine too, no need to thaw in advance. Add them to the steamer basket with the spinach.<\/p>\n<p>Weigh out 10g of <strong>dry alphabet pasta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cooking<\/h2>\n<p>Once the water is boiling, add the <strong>pasta<\/strong> and cook according to the package instructions, adding 2 extra minutes for a very soft, baby-friendly texture.<br \/>Place the steamer basket over the pan and steam the <strong>spinach<\/strong> and <strong>peas<\/strong> for about 8 minutes, until very tender.<\/p>\n<p>While it cooks, grate the <strong>parmesan<\/strong> and rinse the <strong>basil<\/strong> leaves.<\/p>\n<p>Once everything is cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.<\/p>\n<p>In a blender or mini food processor, add the steamed spinach, peas, basil leaves and <strong>olive oil<\/strong>. Blend until smooth and creamy.
