 Cancer increases during winter months<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

While it is not often discussed, a 2020 study showed higher rates in January and February and the lowest in April and May.<\/span><\/span> Low vitamin D levels are associated with increased cancer mortality.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Due to certain variations, this does not always hold completely true, it does tell us something about cancer. Cancer often has significant growth during the winter months but it may not always show. The important question is why and does this tell us anything about possibly increasing our chance of survival of cancer?<\/span><\/p>\n

Vitamin D is a fat\u2010soluble secosteroid whose key role in calcium and phosphate transport is well known and increasing evidence is present on multiple other biological effects, such as immune-modulation and anti\u2010inflammation effects.<\/span><\/p>\n

One thing known is that vitamin D3 levels in the body drops in the early winter months through mid winter but rises after that. This fits in with the reported reporting of cancer cases as well as with over-all cancer survival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Efficacy of vitamin D3<\/sub> supplementation on cancer mortality<\/span><\/h3>\n

 In un-adjusted models, vitamin D3<\/sub> supplementation was
\nassociated with a statistically non-significant 5% improved overall
\nsurvival and 7 % improved
\ncancer-specific survival. The claim that this is insignificant but would you not prefer to be one of the 5 out of 100 or 7 out of 100?<\/span><\/p>\n

 A very important not for this is that the pool of people in the studies took a daily dosage of from less than 1000 IU a day to only 2000 IU per day. My routine dosage is 5000 IU a day. Some take up to 10,000 IU a day. I would love to see the survival data for the group 5000 to 10000 IU a day but I do not think that they want people to see that.<\/span><\/p>\n

As supplementation with D3 is very cheap, it might be the most logical and best choice for fighting cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a note: I will interject here that D3 supplementation should always be combined with sufficient vitamin K2 ( not K1 which is for blood clotting. ).<\/span><\/p>\n
