Recipe Collection: Easy Cranberry Sauce<\/span><\/h2>\n

I thought I didn\u2019t like cranberries. All I had known of them as a kid was the canned cranberry sauce that was ceremoniously bought for thanksgiving each year. They say we eat with our eyes, and well, let\u2019s just say my eyes didn\u2019t find canned cranberry sauce very appetizing. Flash forward 30 years to now, my desire to learn to cook everything from scratch and what-do-ya-know, cranberry sauce came up on the list.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This recipe started my love for all things cranberries. It\u2019s a tasty blend of sweet and tart with the benefits of using wholefoods. Cranberries are high in antioxidants, they help our immune system, and promote digestive health. So, if you\u2019ve never tried homemade cranberry sauce, I really think you should give this a try.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Easy Cranberry Sauce<\/span><\/h3>\n

Ingredients<\/b><\/p>\n

    \n
  • 12 oz or 3 cups\u00a0 of cranberries (fresh or frozen)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • \u00be of orange juice (either from orange juice or freshly squeezed)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • \u00bd cup sugar (I use coconut sugar, but you can use sweetener of your choice including maple syrup)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 2 tablespoons of water<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Optional Add ins:<\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Cinnamon<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Clove<\/span>
      <\/span>Ginger<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Orange Zest<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Directions<\/b><\/p>\n

      Step 1: Add orange juice, water and sugar to a pan and bring to a boil.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 2: Add in cranberries, reduce heat to medium simmer until \u00bd-\u2154 of cranberries berries have popped.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 3: Mix in add-ons if desired. These can be to your taste, if you love any of these spices, add more. If you just want a hint, at \u00bc tsp or less.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 4: Remove from heat, cool and stir.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
