But it\u2019s also a time to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">earn<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gratitude \u2014 by showing up for the people around us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Showing up is a big part of success in both our personal and professional lives. It builds trust, strengthens relationships and leaves a lasting impression on our clients and prospects. So, in the spirit of the season, here are five ways to show up and drive your business forward heading into 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>5 ways to show up for your real estate business<\/h2>\n<h3><b>1. Don\u2019t wait for the ask<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cLet me know if there\u2019s anything I can do\u201d is a phrase people use all the time, but it often stops short of action. That\u2019s why the best agents don\u2019t just offer to help \u2014 they anticipate their clients\u2019 needs and deliver.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you know a seller is planning renovations, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inman.com\/2025\/06\/30\/best-listing-on-the-street-differentiate-your-service-with-home-repair-solutions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">send your recommended vendors<\/a> just in case they need them. If a buyer is new to the neighborhood, share a few local favorites to help them settle in. If a past client bought a home when mortgage rates were higher, offer to connect them with a lender to explore refinancing options.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These small, proactive gestures keep you top of mind and show that you\u2019re invested in the relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. Be intentional<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Action is important, but intention is everything.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s a difference between showing up with purpose and showing up just to check the box. Before you reach out, take a moment to think about what your clients really need from you right now: Is it advice, reassurance or simply a listening ear?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buyers and sellers have unique needs and stress points, so focus on how you can be the most valuable resource to them in this moment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3. Stay consistent<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As agents, we\u2019re the CEOs of our own business. We decide how we spend our time, where we focus our energy and how we show up each day. That freedom is empowering, but it also means we\u2019re responsible for implementing the systems that keep us accountable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe that means <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inman.com\/2024\/10\/01\/the-art-of-time-blocking-a-business-basic-every-agent-must-learn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blocking time on your calendar<\/a> for your top priorities, using your CRM for outreach reminders or making a to-do list the night before a busy day. Find a routine that works for you, and stick with it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, there will be days that don\u2019t go according to plan. But remember that consistency isn\u2019t about perfection; it\u2019s about having the discipline to get back on track and keep moving forward.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>4. Own your side of the relationship<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s easy to show up for your clients when everything is going smoothly. But what really defines a relationship is how you respond during the tough moments \u2014 when a deal falls through, when emotions run high or when your connection with that person feels out of sync.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You own 50 percent of the relationship, so take responsibility for your part \u2014 the effort, the communication, the follow-through. If something isn\u2019t clicking and you want the relationship to develop and work, you can\u2019t wait for the other side to take the initiative. It\u2019s on you to start the conversation and show up for the relationship.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>5. Make space for yourself<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lastly, but just as importantly, don\u2019t forget to take care of yourself. Real estate is a reactive business where we don\u2019t always have the luxury of doing things on our own time or at our own pace. It\u2019s about always being \u201con\u201d and available 24\/7.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do that well, we have to carve out the time to show up for ourselves. For me, that means working out. It\u2019s something I do for myself, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inman.com\/2025\/10\/20\/how-to-charge-through-market-chaos-with-a-rhino-mindset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it fuels my mindset<\/a> and positively impacts every other aspect of my life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whatever that looks like for you, make it a priority.
