“Welcome to my home, truly my sanctuary,” Sukhleen Aneja<\/a> says with a warmth that immediately makes you feel like you’ve been invited for coffee, not an interview. As we step inside, it’s clear this isn’t your typical executive’s showroom-perfect house. This is a living, breathing story told in colour and texture.<\/p>\n

Art<\/a> adorns every wall \u2013 a tapestry from Krishan Khanna (who, like her mother, was born in Pakistan), intricate works by Jessie Berman, treasures collected from travels that map out a life lived together. “Every time you do your home, it’s just an expression of who you are,” she explains, gesturing around with genuine pride. And hers? It’s vibrant, unapologetically alive, and refreshingly honest.<\/p>\n

But let’s be real \u2013 mornings here are gloriously chaotic. With four-year-old twins, there’s no serene sunrise meditation happening. “Mornings are all about them,” she laughs, describing the beautiful madness of gratitude, reflection, and the sacred ritual of reading together on the school run. “That becomes our time,” she says, her face softening at the thought of those precious, uninterrupted moments before the world starts making demands.<\/p>\n

Then comes the bit that genuinely surprises her team, I suspect. When I ask about the most life-changing experience of her life, she doesn’t hesitate. “Motherhood<\/a> would definitely stand out.” Not an MBA. Not a career milestone. Motherhood<\/a>. And here’s why it’s brilliant \u2013 it wasn’t about the sleepless nights or mastering the art of negotiating with tiny humans. It was watching them create absolute joy out of thin air, fight one minute and hug the same friend the next, break into impromptu concerts in the car simply because they can.<\/p>\n

“We stop being kids as we grow up. We take ourselves so seriously,” she reflects with the kind of wisdom that only comes from being humbled by four-year-olds daily. “Children remind you of the joy of simplicity.” She’s absolutely right!<\/p>\n

Her friendships- some stretching back decades, are what she calls her “greatest provenance.” She recently read that true love is actually the friendship that’s lasted the longest, and you can see it resonates deeply. “If you’re able to treasure those friendships and realise they’re the people who loved and nurtured you, that’s what really matters.” There’s something rather beautiful about a woman scaling beauty empires who still prioritises the mates who knew her before the titles mattered.<\/p>\n

And then there’s faith. Her practice of seva at the Gurudwara is quiet, grounding, about recognising happiness in the smallest things. About roots that keep you steady even when ambition gives you wings.<\/p>\n

When I ask for her advice to the world, she doesn’t offer platitudes. “You’ll regret more for not trying than the fear of failing. Take your chances. It’s all going to be okay and it actually is, more often than always.” Simple. Honest. Truth.<\/p>\n

Career isn’t a sprint, she reminds us with a knowing smile. It’s a marathon where sometimes you accelerate, and sometimes you deliberately take two steps back to prioritise life. And that? That’s not failing. That’s just knowing when to stop, order a coffee, and actually enjoy watching the world rush by whilst you catch your breath.<\/p>\n

Rather wise for someone who admits mornings involve more chaos than calm. <\/p>\n
