Preventative Maintenance Tips<\/h2>\n

Before You Start<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Always refer to the operator\u2019s manual<\/a>,\u00a0<\/a>as each game ma<\/span>y require special cleaning procedures. Also, the game must be turned off when performing the cleaning tasks. <\/p>\n

Look before you start. Give your games a good visual safety inspection. Look for anything that will cause harm to the customer \u2013 broken plastic, a loose screw, and other harmful items that can cause an injury. This is something that each employee should be made aware of, and they should constantly survey the location, reporting anything that could cause an issue. <\/p>\n

Keep It Clean<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Clean the cabinet\u2019s exterior using a mild general-purpose cleaner \u2013 do not use any commercial glass cleaners unless specifically instructed by the game\u2019s manufacturer. It\u2019s also essential to avoid using paper towels to clean Plexiglass, as they can scratch the surface. Instead, use a soft rag, such as a microfiber towel, to ensure that no marks or scratches are left on the game. <\/p>\n

All cabinet vents and fans should also be cleaned of dust buildup. Ensure the fans operate correctly once you\u2019ve cleaned off the dust, and change the vents and fans as needed. <\/p>\n

The interior of the cabinet should be vacuumed occasionally. Some games, by design, accumulate more dust and dirt and require more frequent cleaning than others. <\/p>\n

Much like the exterior, ensure no loose items are in the cabinet. This can cause a short or block the ventilation fans, which can cause more severe issues down the line. To clean the ticket dispensers on the redemption games, use a can of compressed air to blow out the notch sensor. When the cabinet is open, inspect the steering belts and replace them if necessary. <\/p>\n

Finally, play the games to ensure everything works correctly and all I\/O functions are tested. Be sure to recalibrate any controls and replace any necessary parts.<\/p>\n
