The glitches \u2014 which have affected oil tankers, cargo ships, tugs and fishing boats among others since Friday \u2014 increase reliance on radars, compasses and eyesight, boosting the likelihood of collisions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Joint Maritime Information Center, an international naval task force monitoring the area, warned on Sunday that there are instances of \u201cextreme jamming\u201d of signals from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gpsjam.org\/?lat=30.37665&amp;lon=45.30939&amp;z=3.5&amp;date=2025-06-15\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GPSJam<\/a>\u2014a site that publishes daily heat maps of GPS\/GNSS disruptions affecting aircraft\u2014shows multiple \u201chigh-interference\u201d zones clustered around the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"856\" height=\"953\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/2025-06-16_06-31-34.png?itok=FKpOS_az\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said on Monday it had received multiple reports of increasing GPS interference in maritime chokepoint:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>UKMTO has received multiple reports and monitoring of AIS confirms, that there is increasing electronic interference within the waters of the Gulf and Straits of Hormuz. Whilst the level of electronic interference continues to rise across the wider region, the levels and intensity inside the Gulf are having a significant impact on vessels positional reporting through automated systems (AIS).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"429\" height=\"604\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/GtjiB41WIAA0NDM-1.png?itok=AWDmobHm\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Despite reports of \u201chigh\u201d GPS jamming across parts of the maritime chokepoint, there are currently no signs of an imminent Iranian blockade.
