Establishes possession limits. Prohibits marketing and packaging attractive to children. Prohibits smoking and vaping in public. Maintains prohibition on driving under influence,\u201d and more. <\/p>\n<p>Florida Politics pointed out that the campaign launched this new effort to put legal marijuana up for a vote just one day after Gov.<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/topic\/ron-desantis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ron DeSantis<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0called a special session asking lawmakers to crackdown on \u201cfraudulent signatures\u201d to place amendments on the ballot. Leaders of the legislature, per the outlet, said they do not intend to allow DeSantis \u201cto dictate what issues are ultimately considered by lawmakers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This past November, the ballot measure, known as <strong>Amendment 3<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/markets\/cannabis\/24\/11\/41763514\/florida-rejects-cannabis-legalization-amendment-supported-by-trump-detested-by-desantis\">fell short <\/a>of the 60% vote required to pass an amendment in Florida though it received nearly 57% support across the state. The amendment faced tough and sustained opposition from DeSantis\u00a0and the Florida Republican Party.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of its efforts, Smart &amp; Safe\u2019s legalization campaign pulled in at least $150 million, making it the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/markets\/cannabis\/24\/06\/39565658\/desantis-anti-cannabis-florida-freedom-fund-raises-barely-a-fraction-of-legalization-committees-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">best-funded cannabis legalization<\/a>\u00a0initiative in U.S. history, with medical marijuana giant<strong>\u00a0Trulieve Cannabis Corp.<\/strong> (OTC:\u00a0TCNNF) contributing the bulk of it.<\/p>\n<p>Cannabis stocks, which had dropped slightly on news that the DEA hearings on rescheduling cannabis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/25\/01\/42972524\/dea-judge-cancels-marijuana-rescheduling-hearing-amid-disturbing-allegations-of-improper-conduct\">were put on hold<\/a> for three months, seemed to perk up a bit with the Florida initiative news.<\/p>\n<p>ETFs such as<strong> AdvisorShares Pure US Cannabis<\/strong> <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"MSOS\" data-exchange=\"NYSE\" style=\"display: inline-block;\">MSOS<\/span> rose 0.29% and <strong>AdvisorShares Pure Cannabis <\/strong><span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"YOLO\" data-exchange=\"NYSE\" style=\"display: inline-block;\">YOLO<\/span> went up 0.87% at the close. <strong>Trulieve Cannabis <\/strong>ended down 2.23% while <strong>Green Thumb Industries<\/strong> <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"GTBIF\" data-exchange=\"OTC\" style=\"display: inline-block;\">GTBIF<\/span> rose 0.28%. <strong>Tilray Brands<\/strong> <span class=\"ticker\" data-ticker=\"TLRY\" data-exchange=\"NASDAQ\" style=\"display: inline-block;\">TLRY<\/span> held steady.
