Wonder of the Word<\/a> initiative, where, among other things, Nancy will walk us through an overview of the whole Bible over the course of one year.\u00a0<\/p>\nNancy desires to do this because God\u2019s Word truly is wonderful, and the more we can soak in it, the better. And so this week and next, we\u2019re going to spend time in the longest chapter in the Bible\u2014Psalm 119. It\u2019s long because the psalmist spends 176 verses telling us how much he delights in God\u2019s Word.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I can\u2019t help but ask myself, \u201cAm I this excited about Scripture?\u201d Are you? Well, if the psalmist could write 176 verses about it, we probably have lots of reasons to be. That\u2019s why I\u2019m so excited for Nancy to teach through this chapter as we listen together.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But to set us up for Nancy\u2019s teaching on Psalm 119, we have a special program today. Nancy is going to read through several other Psalms that have encouraged her over the years. No teaching. No commentary. Today is a sweet and simple opportunity for us to just be still and let God\u2019s Word wash over us. After Nancy reads these Psalms, we\u2019ll listen to some friends of Revive Our Hearts<\/em> read through Psalm 119, helping us to prepare our hearts for our study over the next two weeks. Without further ado, here\u2019s Nancy.<\/p>\nNancy:\u00a0<\/span>O Lord, I pray for our listeners\u2014some are at home doing household chores; some are perhaps in a vehicle driving with others with them\u2014in different places, doing different things, but I just ask that You would quiet our hearts, that You would still our hearts.<\/p>\nA lot of us have had a busy, active, maybe hectic weekend; some are maybe lonely or hurting or struggling; some are excited. Wherever You find us, Lord, I pray that You would quiet our hearts to receive Your Word, and that You would wash us with the water of Your Word.<\/p>\n
Encourage Your people. Strengthen our hearts. Give us courage and faith and hope in all that we need by listening to You speak to us through Your Word. I pray it in Jesus\u2019 name, amen.<\/p>\n
Now, let\u2019s listen to some selections from\u00a0Psalms from the Heart<\/em>.<\/p>\nPsalm 1<\/strong><\/h3>\nBlessed is the man\u00a0

\nnor stands in the way of sinners,\u00a0

The wicked plots against the righteous

The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows
\n\u00a0 \u00a0to bring down the poor and needy,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0to slay those whose way is upright;
\ntheir sword shall enter their own heart,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0and their bows shall be broken.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Better is the little that the righteous has
\n\u00a0 \u00a0than the abundance of many wicked.
\nFor the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0but the LORD<\/span> upholds the righteous.\u00a0<\/p>\nThe LORD<\/span> knows the days of the blameless,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0and their heritage will remain forever;

The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD<\/span>;
