One year prior, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcaredive.com\/news\/fanfare-then-fizzle-amazon-jpm-berkshire-shutter-haven-after-3-years\/592780\/\">the company shut down Haven<\/a>, its joint venture with Berkshire Hathaway and J.P. Morgan to lower healthcare costs for employers. Both struggled getting customer buy-in and ran into unexpected challenges in their bid to innovate in the deeply entrenched healthcare industry.<\/p>\n<p>But more recently, Amazon has touted momentum in its healthcare division. The tech behemoth doesn\u2019t share financial information for AHS, but has prioritized growth: working to open new One Medical offices in states like New Jersey, New York and Ohio and reporting strong uptake of its pharmacy offerings, thanks to investments in consumer-centric services like same-day medication delivery and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcaredive.com\/news\/amazon-pharmacy-pillpack-expands-medicare\/749711\/\">allowing caregivers to control drug orders<\/a> on their patients\u2019 behalf.<\/p>\n<p>And now, Amazon is revamping AHS entirely in a bid to spur continued expansion.<\/p>\n<p>The six units created in AHS\u2019 restructuring are helmed entirely by current Amazon executives, including some who have been at the company for decades. The company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcaredive.com\/news\/amazon-lays-off-hundreds-one-medical-amazon-pharmacy\/706811\/\">cut hundreds of jobs<\/a> across Amazon Pharmacy and One Medical last year.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon also announced that Ann Allen, the<strong> <\/strong>chief operating officer of One Medical, is moving to a new role overseeing Amazon\u2019s partner relationships with health systems. Amazon plans to backfill Allen\u2019s role.<\/p>\n<p>News of the restructuring, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/13\/amazon-reorganizes-its-health-care-business-after-executive-departures.html\">first reported by CNBC<\/a>,\u00a0comes three months after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthcaredive.com\/news\/amazon-one-medical-ceo-trent-green-steps-down\/741760\/\">One Medical CEO Trent Green left the company<\/a>\u00a0to helm a healthcare analytics firm. Dr. Vin Gupta, the chief medical officer of Amazon Pharmacy, also left in February.
