Tully, a former judge advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve, said he recently left his post at Commerce because Donald Trump \u201cis a danger to our country, our economy and our democratic way of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>MI-07<\/strong>. Education policy professor Josh Cowen, who teaches at Michigan State University, tells the Detroit News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2025\/06\/10\/msu-education-policy-professor-josh-cowen-eyes-run-for-congress-michigan-7th-district-tom-barrett\/84136153007\">he\u2019s considering<\/a>\u00a0seeking the Democratic nomination to take on GOP Rep. Tom Barrett. Cowen, who said he\u2019d have more to say in the next few weeks, is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/i\/164194214\/mi\">one of several Democrats<\/a>\u00a0looking at running for Michigan\u2019s swingy 7th District.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GA-05<\/strong>. Former Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill, who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/politics\/2025\/06\/ex-sheriff-victor-hill-says-he-will-challenge-georgia-us-rep-nikema-williams\/\">served 10 months<\/a>\u00a0in federal prison after he was convicted in 2022 of violating the civil rights of prisoners he oversaw, announced Tuesday that he\u2019d wage a longshot Democratic primary challenge to Rep. Nikema Williams. Hill, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes, was found guilty of punishing detainees by strapping them into restraint chairs for hours, and he\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ajc.com\/news\/atlanta-news\/former-clayton-sheriff-victor-hill-loses-appeal-in-excessive-force-case\/RUTDKRNB5ZFR3AUV4COCTMAERQ\/\">currently being sued<\/a>\u00a0over his actions. Two Tennessee Republicans have launched campaigns to succeed GOP Rep. Mark Green, who said Monday he\u2019d resign at some unspecified time after the passage of the GOP\u2019s pending budget bill. Matt Van Epps\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseelookout.com\/2025\/06\/10\/potential-replacements-for-tennessee-u-s-rep-green-line-up\">stepped down from<\/a>\u00a0Gov. Bill Lee\u2019s cabinet on Tuesday to run, while Montgomery County Commissioner Jason Knight\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theleafchronicle.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2025\/06\/11\/montgomery-commissioner-knight-to-run-for-u-s-rep-mark-greens-seat\/84151235007\/\">announced a bid<\/a>\u00a0the following day. State Sen. Bill Powers and state Rep. Jody Barrett also tell the Tennessee Lookout\u2019s Sam Stockard that they\u2019re interested in running for the conservative 7th District, though Barrett professed to lack any \u201cburning desire to climb any political ladder or get to the next proverbial level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Former state Rep. Brandon Ogles, the cousin of neighboring Rep. Andy Ogles, also said he was thinking about running. Stockard adds that state Rep. Gino Bulso has been talked about as a possible candidate, but said he was unable to reach the legislator.<\/p>\n<p>No one\u2019s sure exactly when the special election to replace Green will be, though, especially since the incumbent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.notus.org\/congress\/super-cagey-rep-mark-green-mysterious-resignation\">won\u2019t even say<\/a>\u00a0what he\u2019s doing next beyond joining the \u201cprivate sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green\u2019s colleagues tell NOTUS\u2019 Reese Gorman that the still-congressman has approached them about investing in the South American nation of Guyana, but, in the words of one source, he\u2019s been \u201csuper cagey\u201d about providing details. Gorman adds that Green, the chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security, has utilized his \u201cconnections to try to land meetings with potential investors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green, who reportedly announced his upcoming departure while in Guyana, responded by insisting he\u2019d followed House ethics rules and \u201cnever solicited a lobbyist or executive to purchase a company I own, or am planning to own, or am planning to work for.\u201d Not everyone in the GOP caucus, though, is appeased.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat the fuck?\u201d an unnamed member exclaimed to Gorman. \u201cHow do you line up a job before you resign?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A surprising number of Democrats have expressed interest in taking aim at an unlikely target: Tennessee\u2019s conservative 7th District, which is set to become vacant following Republican Rep. Mark Green\u2019s announcement this week\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/morning-digest-as-new-jersey-votes?open=false#%C2%A7tn\">that he\u2019d resign at an unspecified later date<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 7th District\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/the-downballots-calculations-of-presidential\">backed Donald Trump 60-38<\/a>\u00a0last year, and Green turned in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Mark_Green_(Tennessee)\">an identical performance<\/a>\u00a0even after his estranged wife\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nashvillebanner.com\/2024\/09\/13\/mark-green-divorce-affair\/\">accused him of infidelity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But Democrats, as James Downs writes in the National Journal,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaljournal.com\/s\/728759\/how-democrats-could-see-blue-in-greens-seat\/?unlock=S3CRTLV8KQQJ3HY4\">are encouraged<\/a>\u00a0by their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1JGk1r1VXnxBrAIVHz1C5HTB5jxCO6Zw4QNPivdhyWHw\/edit?gid=415249345#gid=415249345\">big overperformances<\/a>\u00a0in recent special elections. They\u2019re also hoping that the GOP\u2019s decision to gerrymander the neighboring 5th District in 2022, which involved cracking the loyally blue city of Nashville three ways and placing part of it in Green\u2019s district, will give them a large and motivated base of voters for what could be a low-turnout contest.<\/p>\n<p>State Rep. Vincent Dixie sounds the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseelookout.com\/2025\/06\/12\/more-candidates-enter-field-to-replace-green-in-tennessees-7th-district\/\">most enthusiastic<\/a>\u00a0about running, and he tells the Tennessee Lookout\u2019s Sam Stockard he\u2019s \u201cabout 98.3% sure\u201d he\u2019ll do it. Fellow state Rep. Bo Mitchell\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nashvillescene.com\/news\/pithinthewind\/bo-mitchell-vincent-dixie-mark-green\/article_57e4b49d-989c-47cd-a132-4da48c0234ab.html\">also informs<\/a>\u00a0the Nashville Scene that he\u2019s thinking about a bid and will decide \u201cin the coming days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, former Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, who was Green\u2019s opponent last year, released a statement saying she was thinking about another try. State Rep. John Ray Clemmons, for his part, told Stockard the party should consolidate behind one candidate, but he didn\u2019t say if he wants to be that candidate.<\/p>\n<p>Stockard and Downs also name several other possible Democratic contenders, including former Nashville Mayor John Cooper, businessman Darden Copeland, former Tennessee State University President Glenda Glover, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, and state Sen. Jeff Yarbro. State Sen. Charlane Oliver, though, tells Stockard she won\u2019t run.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Republicans continue to pile into the primary for the as-yet unscheduled special election. The latest entrant is Army veteran Jon Thorp, who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseelookout.com\/2025\/06\/12\/more-candidates-enter-field-to-replace-green-in-tennessees-7th-district\/\">announced<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday. Thorp, though, admitted that he hasn\u2019t cast a ballot\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thorpforcongress.com\/i-didnt-vote-for-24-years\/\">in 24 years<\/a>\u00a0because he was unhappy with his choices, a decision that\u2019s unlikely to go over well with Trump-obsessed primary voters.<\/p>\n<p>Two other candidates were already seeking the GOP nod: former state cabinet member Matt Van Epps and Montgomery County Commissioner Jason Knight, an Army veteran who would be the first Black Republican to represent the state in Congress.<\/p>\n<p>A few other Republicans\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/morning-digest-nebraska-conservatives?open=false#%C2%A7tn\">previously expressed interest<\/a>\u00a0in running, and several more are now talking about entering the race.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Lotfi, an official with the state branch of Americans for Prosperity, tells Stockard\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseelookout.com\/2025\/06\/12\/more-candidates-enter-field-to-replace-green-in-tennessees-7th-district\/\">that he\u2019s both considering<\/a>\u00a0and would be a \u201cpretty flawed candidate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lotfi offered that blunt self-assessment six years after GOP lawmakers expressed disgust that then-House Speaker Glen Casada\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newschannel5.com\/news\/newschannel-5-investigates\/house-speaker-put-political-operative-on-state-payroll\">gave him a state job<\/a>\u00a0even though he\u2019d be doing no work for the legislature. Lotfi instead was brought on to handle political work for Casada, which included\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newschannel5.com\/news\/newschannel-5-investigates\/speaker-casada-used-tax-dollars-for-attack-on-rep-byrd-accusers\">launching attacks on women<\/a>\u00a0who had accused one of the speaker\u2019s allies of sexual assault. Casada stepped down later in 2019 because of an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/05\/21\/725389031\/tenn-republican-to-resign-as-house-speaker-after-lewd-and-sexist-texts\">unrelated scandal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Republican operative Alice Rolli, meanwhile, tells Axios\u2019 Nate Rau\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/nashville\/2025\/06\/12\/tennessee-district-seven-congress-mark-green\">that she\u2019s thinking<\/a>\u00a0about running. Rolli campaigned for mayor of Nashville in 2023 but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2023\/9\/18\/2193851\/-Morning-Digest-Want-to-know-which-House-seats-are-the-most-vulnerable-Our-new-tool-tells-you#11\">badly lost<\/a>\u00a0the officially nonpartisan contest to Democrat Freddie O\u2019Connell.<\/p>\n<p>Stockard and Rau also mention several other Republicans as possible contenders, including a trio of political operatives\u2014Chris Burger, Brian Clifford, and Mark Moore\u2014as well as country singer John Rich and House Speaker Cameron Sexton. However, none of these people, including Rich of the duo\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Big_%26_Rich\">Big &amp; Rich<\/a>, has said anything publicly about running.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-bluesky-social wp-block-embed-bluesky-social\"\/>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>VA-01<\/strong>. Democratic activist Lisa Vedernikova Khanna, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/04\/23\/style\/lisa-vedernikova-harry-khanna-wedding.html\">former chief of staff<\/a>\u00a0to New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger, announced Wednesday\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/richmond.com\/news\/state-regional\/government-politics\/article_9815c354-a3a8-4cab-ab41-37146f5cf779.html\">that she would challenge<\/a>\u00a0Republican Rep. Rob Wittman in Virginia\u2019s 1st District. The first-time candidate used her announcement\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/024ad3ff2459\/community-advocate-and-business-leader-lisa-vedernikova-khanna-announces-run-for-congress-in-virginias-first-district?e=d90e99c09b\">to emphasize<\/a>\u00a0her background as the daughter of an undocumented immigrant from the former Soviet Union.<\/p>\n<p>Khanna entered the race just days after Chesterfield Clerk of Court Amanda Pohl\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/morning-digest-why-democrats-worry?open=false#%C2%A7va\">became the first Democrat<\/a>\u00a0to challenge Wittman,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/12YaBonkqHAjkXhzyKlH2-1t-smZ6J5j76RCBSJEwQHo\/edit?gid=1617983784#gid=1617983784\">whose district includes<\/a>\u00a0many of Richmond\u2019s suburbs as well as the western Chesapeake Bay. This district backed Donald Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/the-downballots-calculations-of-presidential\">52-47<\/a>\u00a0after favoring him by a slightly wider spread in 2020, making this a rare district that moved to the left last year.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-bluesky-social wp-block-embed-bluesky-social\"\/>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>VA-11<\/strong>. A super PAC supporting Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/allymutnick\/status\/1932894707497251298\">has released<\/a>\u00a0a poll showing him with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/punchbowl.news\/publicmemo-va11-firev-0611251\/\">huge 41-8 lead<\/a>\u00a0over state Sen. Stella Pekarsky in the June 28\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/i\/165136641\/va\">\u201cfirehouse\u201d primary<\/a>\u00a0that Democrats are holding to choose a nominee, with six other candidates trailing still further.\u00a0 This survey from Lake Research Partners, which was first shared by Punchbowl News, is the first poll we\u2019ve seen of this month\u2019s contest. Whoever wins a plurality of the vote will be heavily favored in the Sept. 9 special election for Virginia\u2019s 11th District.<\/p>\n<p>Energy policy expert Amy Roma has released\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7yTrtaKppKc\">her first TV ad<\/a>\u00a0ahead of the June 28 Democratic primary in Virginia\u2019s vacant 11th District, saying she \u201cknow[s] how to use all those levers of power to stop Trump\u2019s agenda\u201d and promising to \u201cjam up every single dangerous and illegal Trump policy in Congress and the courts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/punchbowl.news\/publicmemo-va11-firev-0611251\/\">a poll of the race<\/a>\u00a0recently released by allies of Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw, who was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/morning-digest-why-republicans-think?open=false#%C2%A7va\">the first Democrat<\/a>\u00a0on the airwaves, Roma was shown taking just 1% of the vote. Walkinshaw, meanwhile, had a giant 41-8 lead over his nearest opponent, state Sen. John Rutherford in the Republican primary for Florida\u2019s conservative 5th District.<\/p>\n<p>Kaye\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-us-canada-68440150\">attracted attention<\/a>\u00a0last year when he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/news\/local\/2024\/03\/12\/jacksonville-based-radio-host-fired-for-sharing-ai-generated-photo-of-trump-with-black-voters\/\">said he\u2019d been \u201cfired\u201d<\/a>\u00a0by Cox Media for creating and spreading an AI-generated image of Donald Trump surrounded by Black voters. The company, though, said it had already decided to part ways with him before the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Rutherford is a longtime elected official from Jacksonville who served as its sheriff before he was elected to the House in 2016. Last year, he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ourcampaigns.com\/RaceDetail.html?RaceID=1031099\">won renomination<\/a>\u00a0by a 67-33 margin against an underfunded opponent, a performance that was neither close but also not impressive for a veteran incumbent.<\/p>\n<p>Kaye, though, is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/news\/politics\/2025\/06\/12\/former-jacksonville-radio-host-mark-kaye-announces-hes-running-for-congress-bashes-current-rep-john-rutherford\/\">wasting no time attacking<\/a>\u00a0the 72-year-old congressman. Chris Collins, who has served both as a U.S. representative from New York and as an inmate in federal prison, has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wkbw.com\/news\/local-news\/former-rep-chris-collins-who-pleaded-guilty-to-federal-insider-trading-charges-hopes-to-return-to-congress\">decided to add<\/a>\u00a0Florida congressman to his resume.<\/p>\n<p>Collins said Wednesday that he\u2019d enter the Republican primary for the open 19th District, a dark-red seat\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/12YaBonkqHAjkXhzyKlH2-1t-smZ6J5j76RCBSJEwQHo\/edit?gid=1617983784#gid=1617983784\">that includes<\/a>\u00a0Fort Myers and the Cape Coral areas. Considerably more of Collins\u2019 former voters may know about this than his future voters, though, as he made his announcement on WBEN\u2014a talk radio station in Buffalo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump\u2019s back in office,\u201d he told host Joe Beamer. \u201cI\u2019d like to go back and be his sidekick, if you will.\u201d Collins is running to succeed Republican Rep. Byron Donalds, who is the frontrunner to become Florida\u2019s next governor.<\/p>\n<p>Collins, who\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legistorm.com\/person\/bio\/198786\/Christopher_Carl_Collins.html\">turned 75<\/a>\u00a0last month, is a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2020\/1\/17\/1912296\/-Former-New-York-congressman-and-early-Trump-supporter-sentenced-to-26-months-in-prison\">longtime upstate New York politician<\/a>\u00a0who won a House seat in 2012 by unseating future Gov. Kathy Hochul. His career seemed to be over, though, in 2019 when he resigned and pleaded guilty to his part in an insider-trading scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople feel sorry for me. They shouldn\u2019t,\u201d a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/01\/17\/nyregion\/chris-collins-sentencing-prison.html\">tearful Collins<\/a>\u00a0told the court at his sentencing. \u201cI stand here today as a disgraced former member of Congress that will have that asterisk by my name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Donald Trump, though, did feel sorry for Collins, who was one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/the_slatest\/2016\/05\/06\/a_running_list_of_donald_trump_s_republican_endorsements.html\">first members<\/a>\u00a0of Congress to endorse his 2016 presidential bid. In 2020, Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/spectrumlocalnews.com\/nys\/central-ny\/news\/2020\/12\/23\/president-trump-grants-full-pardon-to-former-rep--chris-collins\">pardoned the ex-congressman<\/a>\u00a0just two months into what was supposed to be a 26-month prison sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Collins, who relocated to southwestern Florida, also left whatever contrition he\u2019d once felt behind. He\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/style\/power\/2024\/01\/18\/chris-collins-profile-trump-pardon\/\">told<\/a>\u00a0the Washington Post last year, \u201cThey came after me like they came after Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Collins has now entered a GOP primary that includes Jim Oberweis\u2014who is a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/i\/158613669\/fl\">former state senator from Illinois<\/a>\u2014as well as Marine veteran Mike Pedersen and businessman Jim Schwartzel.<\/p>\n<p>Collins, however, may not be the only one-time Republican congressman from another state who wants redemption in Florida. Former North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn, who had his own\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/i\/158000865\/fl\">turbulent tenure<\/a>, expressed interest in seeking Donalds\u2019 seat back in February. Cawthorn, however, doesn\u2019t appear to have said anything else about a comeback over the intervening months.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-mother-jones wp-block-embed-mother-jones\"\/>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>NH-01<\/strong>. Former state Sen. Tom Sherman, who had been considering a bid for New Hampshire\u2019s open 1st Congressional District,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KlandriganUL\/status\/1933182939577155992\">has instead endorsed<\/a>\u00a0former Portsmouth City Councilor Stefany Shaheen. Sherman has also been weighing a run against Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte but doesn\u2019t appear to have said anything further since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/morning-digest-federal-judge-tells?open=false#%C2%A7nh-gov\">first floating the idea last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MO-02<\/strong>. Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright said Wednesday that he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/sports\/professional\/mlb\/cardinals\/article_07cfa567-7311-4942-b3f7-ae4eb50280d7.html\">would not challenge<\/a>\u00a0Republican Rep. Ann Wagner as a Democrat next year.\u00a0 Wainwright,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/morning-digest-why-republicans-think?open=false#%C2%A7mo\">whose name was included<\/a>\u00a0in a recent Democratic poll testing prospective candidates against Wagner, didn\u2019t rule out a future campaign for office in comments to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. But the former right-handed hurler, who has not said which party, if any, he belongs to, added that the \u201ctime for me, if ever, is not right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>MA-09<\/strong>.Mattapoisett Select Board member Tyler Macallister, who is better known\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/harpoon-hunters-everything-we-know\/\">as the star<\/a>\u00a0of the reality TV show \u201cHarpoon Hunters,\u201d told local Republicans this week\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sippican.theweektoday.com\/article\/mattapoisett-select-board-member-announces-congressional-campaign\/76119\">that he would challenge<\/a>\u00a0Democratic Rep. Bill Keating in Massachusetts\u2019 9th District. This constituency, which\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/12YaBonkqHAjkXhzyKlH2-1t-smZ6J5j76RCBSJEwQHo\/edit?gid=1617983784#gid=1617983784\">includes Cape Cod<\/a>, is the least Democratic of the Bay State\u2019s nine congressional districts, but it still tilts to the left. Kamala Harris\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/the-downballots-calculations-of-presidential\">prevailed here 55-44<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IL-09<\/strong>.Democratic operative Miracle Jenkins, who worked for retiring Rep. Jan Schakowsky\u2019s reelection campaign in 2018, has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/evanstonroundtable.com\/2025\/06\/11\/miracle-jenkins-joins-crowded-primary-field-for-illinois-9th-district\/\">joined the race<\/a>\u00a0to succeed his one-time boss. Four other notable Democrats are vying to succeed the congresswoman in Illinois\u2019 solidly blue 9th District.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-mother-jones wp-block-embed-mother-jones\"\/>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bluedelaware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Black.Divider.png?w=950&amp;ssl=1\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>OH-13<\/strong>. Every Republican in Ohio\u2019s congressional delegation, including Sens. Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/signalohio.org\/akrons-13th-congressional-district-likely-to-see-sykes-coughlin-rematch\/\">has endorsed<\/a>\u00a0former state Sen. Kevin Coughlin as he seeks a rematch with Democratic Rep. Emilia Sykes following his 51-49 loss last year. Coughlin is the only Republican candidate in the race, and no other potential names have emerged.<\/p>\n<p>The Akron-area 13th District was the most evenly divided district on the presidential level in 2024,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-downballot.com\/p\/its-here-the-downballots-2024-presidential\">going for Kamala Harris by just 183 votes<\/a>\u2014a difference of less than 0.05 percentage points. However, the district could change if Republicans seek to gerrymander Ohio\u2019s map further this summer, when state law requires them to pass new lines.
