Although the mash bill leans heavily on corn (99.5% corn to 0.5% malted barley, to be precise) and eschews the rye commonly associated with Canadian whisky, it travels across much of the country. The core spirit is distilled in Ontario before being transported to a B.C. winery, where it is prepared to undergo a unique maturation process that<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/whisky.buzz\/thewhiskytopic\/127-master-blender-andres-faustinelli-breaks-down-bearface-whisky\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Master Blender Andreas Faustinelli<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> has termed \u201celemental aging.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"thewh-4th-paragraph-ads\" id=\"thewh-2617103412\">\n<div style=\"margin-top: -25px;margin-bottom: -15px\" id=\"thewh-2537383997\" data-thewh-trackid=\"81159\" data-thewh-trackbid=\"1\" class=\"thewh-target\">[elementor-template id=&#8221;81160&#8243;]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-8\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This can be thought of as something like backcountry<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thewhiskeywash.com\/whiskey-styles\/bourbon\/whiskey-review-jeffersons-ocean-aged-sea-bourbon\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jefferson\u2019s Ocean<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8212; casks are stored in repurposed shipping containers that leave the maturing whisky somewhat exposed to the elements of the remote Canadian North. Of particular interest is the intense seasonal fluctuation of temperatures in this part of the world which introduces both variables of extreme cold and extreme heat to the interaction between wood and alcohol.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"thewh-read-more thewh-target\" id=\"thewh-2164788921\" data-thewh-trackid=\"88776\" data-thewh-trackbid=\"1\">[elementor-template id=&#8221;88770&#8243;]<\/div>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-9\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I tasted three of Bearface\u2019s offerings&#8211; their flagship and two special bottlings. <a href=\"https:\/\/thewhiskeywash.com\/reviews\/whisky-review-bearface-triple-oak-oaxaca-wilderness-series-matsutake\/\">Bearface\u2019s flagship bottle is the Triple Oak<\/a>, aged in a combination of American ex-bourbon barrels, French former red wine casks, and virgin Hungarian oak. <a href=\"https:\/\/thewhiskeywash.com\/whiskey-reviews\/bearface-whisky-review-one-eleven-series-oaxaca-edition\/\">I also tasted the Oaxaca edition<\/a> of their One Eleven Series, which takes advantage of the flexibility available to the Canadian whisky category by blending in one part mezcal to ten parts of Bearface\u2019s whisky.
