Since then a lot changed. Losing a relationship brought feelings of grief and contemplation about what could have been, but I am a work in progress. Some days it is not easy, and some days I get up feeling grateful! There are days when I feel I don\u2019t understand how I went through it all! I\u2019ve come to realize I\u2019ve grown immensely during this journey, with the support of friends who have become like family, helping me reconnect with my true self.<\/p>\n<p>Today, as I celebrate another year of life, I embraced the day with joy and no expectations. While I missed J and wished he could be here, or that I was with my friends in London, the universe had a way of surprising me. The whole day was spent in quite an excitement. It wasn\u2019t what was sent to me, it\u2019s those small things, it\u2019s all the thoughts that matter. J wished me birthday at midnight, and in the morning he sent me a voice note singing \u201cHappy Birthday\u201d in his melodious voice.. when I wished to have some flowers, my bestie unexpectedly sent me flowers from the other side of the world. Even though my family couldn\u2019t be with me in person, they filled my day with love through a delightful surprise hamper.<\/p>\n<p>This day could not have been any better. I feel grateful and blessed for such a wonderful celebration. I\u2019m also happy to have J in my life\u2014someone I never expected to connect with so deeply.
