During travel time, working double shifts and needing charge, this is a must! Plus, when you\u2019re out exploring during contracts, you want to be able to charge on the go!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Packing_cubes\"\/><strong>2) Packing cubes <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>These\u00a0are very handy to split your underwear, socks, singlets, work clothes, pants etc. They can range from $15 for a set +<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Pair_of_each_shoe\"\/>3) Pair of each shoe<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Flip-flop (aka thongs)<\/li>\n<li>Work shoes<\/li>\n<li>Sneakers<\/li>\n<li>1x pair of \u201cnice\u201d going out shoes \u2013 you never know the awesome opportunities that might get involved in<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Selfie_stick_andor_tripod\"\/>4) Selfie stick and\/or tripod<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes you\u2019re travelling alone, and you are going to see some amazing sites. You don\u2019t want to miss any photo opportunities.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Pillowcases\"\/>5) Pillowcase\/s<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>Bringing your own pillow cover\/s can be such a nice touch to your new temporary room and bring that next level of comfort.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Spices\"\/>6) Spices<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>If you love cooking, bring your own spices in small ziplock bags (and label them). It can be quite costly to buy spices, so bring your favs!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7_Ipadtabletkobo\"\/>7) Ipad\/tablet\/kobo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>This is so handy to have books on instead of carrying physical books<\/p>\n<h2>8) Phone with extra internet data (you can usually \u201ctop up\u201d monthly while away)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>This is essential. It\u2019s rare to get Wi-Fi included in your accommodation, so make sure you have plenty of data. Or get yourself a dongle because your gonna need it (teltra have great portable wifi devices).<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"9_Aeropress_coffee_press_or_mini_plunger\"\/>9) Aeropress coffee press or mini plunger<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>For all your coffee lovers, this is an essential (stick milk frother if you like frothy milk)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"10_Mini_bluetooth_speaker\"\/>10) Mini bluetooth speaker<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>Gotta bust out the tunes in your room<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"11_Photos_of_family_and_friends\"\/>11) Photos of family and friends<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>This is great to put in your room to make it feel more homey<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"12_Essential_oils_andor_travel_diffuser\"\/>12) Essential oils and\/or travel diffuser<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>Post night shift relax time<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"13_Yeti_drink_bottle\"\/>13) Yeti drink bottle<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>This is GREAT for hot climates (they also have stubby holders)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"14_Sunscreenbug_spray\"\/>14) Sunscreen\/bug spray<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes it\u2019s crazy expensive in small towns or islands<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"15_Ear_plugs\"\/>15) Ear plugs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes being in a new environment and living in shared accommodation takes a bit of tie to adjust. Using ear plugs to block out any noise, and for shift worker life, can be very handy.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"16_Eye_Mask\"\/>16) Eye Mask<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>You won\u2019t know how dark your new room will be, so an eye mask is essential for shift working life<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"17_Sheet\"\/>17) Sheet<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>If you have the extra room. There is just an added cosy factor when you have your own linen with you.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"HOT_TIPS\"\/>HOT TIPS:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Roll your clothes (instead of folding) to create more space<\/li>\n<li>Read the rules for your flight about electronics, aerosols, portable chargers etc. This is your responsibility and will help with packing<\/li>\n<li>If you require more internet, be aware that most facilities don\u2019t give wifi (you get free accommodation, free utilities etc so that\u2019s a win, but don\u2019t always expect wifi). When travelling you can either increase your data package with your phone plan or the Telstra wifi portable device is a handy purchase. \u2013 https:\/\/www.telstra.com.au\/internet\/mobile-broadband\/telstra\/4gx-hotspot<\/li>\n<li>BYO beans if you\u2019re a hard-core coffee lover. It can be hard to get a decent coffee when out in regional\/remote towns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"RURAL_TOWNSISLANDS\"\/>RURAL TOWNS\/ISLANDS:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bring your favourite snacks as some shops are very limited or extremely pricey<\/li>\n<li>If you are in an indigenous community, be careful about clothing you are bringing. It\u2019s very important to respect the culture in areas you are working and will need to be covered up appropriately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"WHO_ARE_YOU_FLYING_WITH\"\/>WHO ARE YOU FLYING WITH?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<p>Qantas? Virgin? Jetstar? Air NZ?
