Optimism runs high as the New Year unfolds! \u00a0Another chance to
start fresh! \u00a0What will you do to make this year a year of “new beginnings”?<\/i><\/b>
Did you make a New Year’s resolution?<\/span><\/i><\/b>

<\/i>Some of the more popular\u00a0<\/i>Top 10 Resolutions<\/b>\u00a0that we make are:<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

~ Spend more time with family and friends<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
~ Commit to a new diet and eating choices<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
~ Give more to charity \u2013 time and money<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n

Most people resist change, but I say,<\/b>\u00a0“Change is good!”<\/b><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Isaiah 43:18-19 says this:\u00a0<\/span>\u201cDo not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

As Christians, we are\u00a0new<\/i>\u00a0creatures in Christ. We have a new beginning. We can establish new habits that are godly and useful. We can find new inspiration and a fresh new revelation as we read and study God\u2019s Word. Who doesn’t like the idea of a clean slate \u2013 a chance to start over?<\/p>\n

The Apostle Paul instructs us to know Christ in a\u00a0new<\/i>\u00a0intimate way. \u00a0That kind of spiritual intimacy caused him to,\u00a0\u201c\u2026press on and lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me\u201d<\/i>\u00a0(Philippians 3:10-12). We have a revelation from Christ that brings a fresh, spiritual comprehension, which in turn gives us apprehension to live out our Christianity with boldness.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our confidence cannot be in our flesh, but in the power of God. Look to Him with the expectation of what He can do in us and through us. As Paul states in verse 13-14,\u00a0\u201cbut one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.\u201d<\/i><\/div>\n

In the book of Revelation, John tells us that those worshiping before the throne of the Lamb will sing a\u00a0<\/span>new<\/i>\u00a0song. In his vision he gazed upon a\u00a0<\/span>new<\/i>\u00a0heaven and a\u00a0<\/span>new<\/i>\u00a0earth.<\/span><\/p>\n

What a great lesson for the “new YOU” and our\u00a0new\u00a0life resolutions.\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Look forward, not backwards.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Keep your eye on Jesus and the heavenly goal. Pattern your new ideas and habits on what the Word teaches. Model yourself after your Maker and Master. Fix your gaze upon Jesus\u2026He is all you need to walk in the newness of life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Even in these days of the unknown and unchartered we have confidence in this: that God is in control… We can live without fear and anxiety because God is sovereign and uses everything to bring good out of even the worst circumstances for our good and His glory. (Romans 8:28)<\/div>\n

So – take this new year ahead with a grain of salt…\u00a0 Look it square in the eye and face it with boldness and great faith that your Creator has a plan in place for you and yours…<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

New Year\u2019s Eve and looking forward in faith to God\u2019s blessings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What a beautiful tribute to what a New<\/i>\u00a0Year can hold in store for us\u2026<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
In working or in waiting,<\/span><\/div>\n
Another year of progress,<\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0Another year of mercies<\/span><\/div>\n
Of faithfulness and grace;<\/span><\/div>\n

What are you facing this year? \u00a0Do you wrestle with a looming financial situation? \u00a0Are you dreading a changing family dynamic? Do you anxiously await a medical report or future surgery? Is your marriage looking like something out of a horror movie? Take heart… Jesus specializes in\u00a0new\u00a0beginnings!<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s to a new year full of hope and anticipation in what\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

God has in store for you!<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
