You realize how powerful these words are when you truly let go\u2026 when you are \u201cIn the process,\u201d or even better after you return home. Only then will you realize that, indeed, \u201cgetting out of your comfort zone\u201d can change you forever.<\/p>\n

This is one of my first posts after returning home<\/a><\/strong> briefly eight months after my epic trip. It says a lot already. Imagine how I have changed after seven years of adventure and an open mind!<\/p>\n

Your train might get delayed, the menu might not be in English, or your \u201cquaint little inn\u201d might turn out to be a shed with Wi-Fi. Roll with it! You will learn to go with the flow, see the world with new eyes, embrace the cultural differences.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ask yourself: \u201cDo I REALLY need this item, is it TRULY necessary do have an emergency dental kit? (yep, I even bought that before my trip. Don\u2019t ask!)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Write down everything you need\u2014from your passport to your phone charger\u2014and tick items off as you pack. It\u2019s simple but effective. It might even save you a trip if you do it properly. <\/p>\n

Plus, it\u2019s a great way to unwind after a hectic day of exploring and diversify your day. I admit I didn\u2019t follow my advice, so I am passing it on to you. I\u2019ve always loved drawing but didn\u2019t indulge in any of that for years. Now, I regret losing some of the skills I had before the trip.<\/p>\n

Why It\u2019s Worth It:<\/strong> Hobbies can spark conversations with fellow travelers. Who knows? You might bond over your shared love of doodling or Uno.<\/p>\n

Good Shoes<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If your feet aren\u2019t happy, you\u2019re<\/em> not happy. Whether you\u2019re strolling through cobblestone streets or hiking up a mountain, a pair of comfortable, durable shoes is non-negotiable. Blisters? They\u2019re not cute and definitely not fun.<\/p>\n

And you don\u2019t even have to go to the ends of the world to understand it. Last summer, I had the (not-so-brilliant) idea to try a new pair of trainers for my daily run. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The result? I had to call home to be picked up as a blister quickly formed and broke. I should have known better\u2026Well done, Clelia! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

You might think, \u201cI\u2019m just backpacking\u2014why would I need fancy clothes?\u201d But trust me, there will come a moment when you wish you\u2019d packed something other than cargo pants. <\/p>\n

A nice outfit lets you blend in at a swanky restaurant or look great for an impromptu photo shoot. You won\u2019t look like a homeless person if you meet the love of your life on the road, won\u2019t you? <\/p>\n

Just kidding, I did meet my future husband wearing horrible cargo pants and a worn-out old t-shirt. but still, follow my advice for the rest. Love is blind, we all know that \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
