Citing ad buyers and documents it reviewed, <em>Adweek<\/em> reported that Amazon has moved to four to six minutes of ads per hour of streaming. That&#8217;s double the two to three-and-a-half minutes when Prime Video first <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/amazon-prime-video-ads\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">launched ads<\/a> in January of last year. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrime Video ad load has gradually increased to four to six minutes per hour,\u201d an Amazon representative told an ad buyer, according to <em>Adweek<\/em>. <\/p>\n<section x-data=\"window.newsletter()\" x-init=\"init()\" class=\"relative p-8 my-12 mx-auto w-full max-w-3xl border md:p-12 md:my-16 border-secondary-300\" data-ga-impression=\"\" data-ga-category=\"newsletters\" data-ga-module=\"incontent_nl_signup\" data-ga-label=\"top-stories\">\n<p>\n            Mashable Top Stories\n        <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<p>It seems like every streaming platform has gradually moved to include more ads. HBO Max \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/hbo-max-name-change\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">then known as Max<\/a>, which was <em>previously<\/em> HBO Max, which was previously HBO Now, which was previously HBO Go \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/max-prices-rise\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">rolled out ads<\/a> last year <em>and <\/em>recently<em> <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/max-password-sharing-crackdown-fix\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">cracked down<\/a> on password sharing. That&#8217;s a double whammy of ad inconvenience. Netflix? <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/netflix-ads-coming-end-of-2022\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">Ads<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/netflix-password-sharing-crackdown-how-to-circumvent\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">password sharing<\/a> crackdown. Hulu or pretty much anywhere else? <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/disney-hulu-espn-password-sharing-crackdown\" target=\"_blank\" data-ga-click=\"1\" data-ga-label=\"$text\" data-ga-item=\"text-link\" data-ga-module=\"content_body\">Ditto<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>You can, of course, pay extra to get an ad-free experience. For Amazon, that means an extra $3 per month. Streamers, of course, have rebranded the ad-supported tiers as cheaper options. <\/p>\n<p>But I, for one, remember the days when ponying up hefty monthly fees meant no ads on streaming at all.
