The 80% of industries here are attar manufacturing industries and<br \/>\ntheir skill of manufacturing it is passed through generations. Although attars<br \/>\nare mostly used as perfume, they are also used for medicinal purposes. Kannauj<br \/>\nstill follows the 5000 year old method of extracting perfume and nickel plated<br \/>\ncopper vessels are used in this process. The flowers are first soaked in water<br \/>\nand then heated in containers hence this process of extracting fragrance takes<br \/>\naround 5 hours. Six types of perfumes are made in kannauj and the most famous<br \/>\none is mud perfumes which has got the aroma of first rain on dry muddy lands.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s a quite familiar scent to everyone&#8217;s senses but rare to find and capture<br \/>\nin a bottle. All of these perfumes smell angelic and they are long-lasting<br \/>\nsince they are free of alcohol and other types of chemicals.
