Gracie Convert first crossed my radar more than two years ago when she released her single “Right Way”. The London-based artist who has found success both as a singer and DJ returned the other week with a brand new alt-R&B song called “In my way”.

Delivered in her signature mix of English and French, this beautiful track throws listeners back to the noughties, a time when R&B was more emotion-driven and heartfelt.

“It’s about loving someone from a different world, when every compromise feels like you’re slowly losing pieces of yourself,” Gracie explains. “You want to make it work, but the deeper you go, the more you wonder if love should cost you who you are.“

With a minimalist production handled by Jack Seagal, “In my way” highlights the artist’s polished vocal and lyrical skills. Listen to the song and follow Gracie Convert on Instagram so as to keep up with her.
