She now returns with <strong><em>The Grass Harp<\/em><\/strong> on the Spring edition for <em>Laaps Records<\/em> which, like <em>IIKKI<\/em> is also curated by <em>Mathias van Eeclo.<\/em> <em>Van Eecloo<\/em> specifically asked <strong><em>Takahashi<\/em><\/strong> to create <em>\u2018a new complete piece of sounds\u2019 <\/em>for the Laaps label.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Aiko Takahashi<\/em><\/strong> resides in Nova Gorca, a city in Slovenia close to Gorizia on the Italian side of the border. <br \/><em>\u201cJust like the line that separates the two cities, divided between two countries yet united as one, Aiko\u2019s<br \/>music exists on a boundary. A line that separates silence from peculiar, almost imperceptible sounds. Too quiet to be ambient, too ambient to be sound art.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Grass Harp<\/em><\/strong> is a perfect release for Spring <em>(Laaps<\/em> editions are paired with the seasons they are released in), but will also sound refreshing in Summer. Open up your doors and windows, and the sound of birds will become part of this <em>\u201cmeditation on decay and silence, blending warm soundscapes with soft, playful melodies\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Released on vinyl (200), CD (150), and digital. It is ambient in atmosphere, but at the same time it isn\u2019t because of the clear melodies (which are not \u2018ignorable\u2019 in the classic ambient sens I mean). <\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe fluidly go where the currents take us. Our music breathes the liquid air of Freedom.
