Rolling Stone <\/em>magazine has turned its vast library of rock-related media into an immersive exhibition. The experience features more than 1,000 images, 200 videos and 1,300 magazine covers, projected at larger-than-life scale onto walls.<\/p>\n

Titled \u201cRolling Stone Presents: Amplified, the Immersive Rock Experience<\/a>,\u201d the show opened in Las Vegas and has since traveled to New York and Houston, where it\u2019s now on display at\u00a0Artechouse\u2019s 4,000-square-foot gallery, per the Houston Press<\/em><\/a>\u2019 Bob Ruggiero.<\/p>\n

The 50-minute immersive exhibition, narrated by actor Kevin Bacon, features more than 300 musicians from throughout the magazine\u2019s nearly\u00a060-year<\/a> history, including Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen<\/a>. As\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>\u2019s John Lonsdale writes, \u201cAmplified\u201d is \u201clike a hypnotic rock show, complete with everything from 4K laser projections to a three-dimensional audio soundtrack.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exhibition went on view in Las Vegas and New York before coming to Houston.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to evoke the same feeling you get when you listen to a record for the first time,\u201d Jodi Peckman, the executive producer of \u201cAmplified,\u201d tells\u00a0CBS New York<\/a>\u2019s Kristie Keleshian.<\/p>\n

Peckman worked at the magazine <\/em>for most of her career. As she explains to\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em>, \u201cMusic imagery is about experiences. It\u2019s about the unbridled joy of concerts and our connection to our favorite artists.\u202f Every picture tells a story, and \u2018Rolling Stone Presents: Amplified\u2019 has hundreds of stories to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show is divided into several chapters: According to\u00a0Artnet<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Min Chen, it begins with sections called \u201cBackstage\u201d and \u201cThe Band,\u201d which bring visitors into the pre-concert rituals of stars like David Bowie. \u201cFans\u201d highlights the people in the crowds, like the adoring\u00a0teenage girls<\/a> behind\u00a0Beatlemania<\/a>. \u201cStudio\u201d and \u201cThe Message\u201d focus on the processes of songwriting, while \u201cCars\u201d and \u201cHair\u201d are tributes to the trappings of celebrity.<\/p>\n
