Ads for two major brands, Twix and Diesel, have been banned by the ASA.<\/p>\n
The Twix TV ad, by adam&eveDDB, was banned for encouraging dangerous driving by showing a car chase<\/a> with a man doing fast, daredevil turns and casually driving off a cliff. In its defence, Twix-owner Mars said the campaign, which ran in 74 markets and launched the new \u201cTwo is more than one\u201d platform, was set in a \u201cseparate world that was absurd, fantastical and removed from reality.\u201d<\/p>\n However, the ASA said that because the ad started out in a realistic road setting, it appeared to condone unsafe driving and breached the Highway Code thanks to the speed of the chase and the dangerous manoeuvres depicted.<\/p>\n
