(Seneca Falls, NY) – Fleur De Lis Brew Works celebrates their first year of business May 19 from 11 am until 9 pm. The brewery marks the day with special beer releases, first-run bottle offerings and fun for its new supporters and year-long loyalists.

The day-long celebration includes several draft beer releases. “All in the Family,” braggot is the headlining release. Jon Paul Partee, Head Brewer, says “the ale-mead combination is special, worthy of our anniversary. It’s made with local honey, and lots of it! The honey ferments and brings the ABV to over 8%. I aged this over six months to make sure it’s mellow and smooth without any bite.”

Other new releases for the day are returning favorites “Uncle Nit’s Wit” witbier and “Tropical Pain Killer” lime milkshake IPA.

Jon Paul continues “Uncle Nit’s Wit” was one of our first beers and a top seller last year. I think that is because it’s super drinkable with fresh oranges and grapefruit. I also add freshly ground coriander to bring out the citrus notes too. The beer finishes at 5.3% ABV and 16 IBUs” IBUs or International Bittering Units measures bitterness on a 0-100 scale with 100 being most bitter.

“Tropical Pain Killer” was developed for the brewery’s special tropical themed event in February. The beer was so popular; it sold out in two days. For the anniversary, Jon Paul has scaled up the recipe to ensure more enthusiasts can enjoy the beer. The milkshake IPA is a relatively new addition to the India pale ale category. Milkshake IPAs are not an officially recognized style, the beer is typically opaque with a robust mouthfeel and less bitterness than a typical IPA. Jon Paul remarks “Tropical Pain Killer is made with fresh limes, Madagascar vanilla beans, oats and granny smith apples. The lime and apple additions add to the tartness and Madagascar vanilla creates a bit of sweetness. Oats and apples round off the beer with the expected dense texture of a milkshake IPA.”

In addition to the three aforementioned drafts, the brewery offers its first run of bottled beer. Available exclusively at the Craft Beer Parlour, the 500- and 750mL bottles include “All in the Family,” “Vigoureux,” whiskey barrel-aged roggenbier and “Mon Ami,” biere de garde, the brewery’s flagship; a French farmhouse ale.

As well as the 12 beers on tap, the brewery wants to thank all who have contributed to their success. Along those lines, the special day includes a grouping of local vendors for customers to shop, sample and enjoy. Those vendors include Muranda Cheese, Schrader Farms Meat Market, Nando’s Italian Pizzelles, Udderly Simple, Reclaimed Beauty by Kelly and The Dandelion at Sleepers Ridge.

Loyal customers may join the 2018 mug club. With the purchase of a 20 ounce commemorative mug, patrons receive discounts all year long.

Families are invited to join the celebration in Seneca Falls. The brewery is currently open three days a week (Friday 3-7, Saturday 12-7 and Sunday 12-6) with days and hours expanding as summer approaches. The anniversary celebration May 19 runs 11 am until 9 pm.

Local favorite, Anything & Everything will play two sets from 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm.

Tonzi’s Catering, voted the best food truck in NYS, shares in the revelry. Service starts at noon.
