But the opposite happened.\u201d (New York Times)<\/p>\n<p>Due to a combination of President Trump\u2019s trade war and higher interest rates, home sales just aren\u2019t happening like economists predicted they would.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty-year fixed mortgage rates hit 6.89% last week. There really isn\u2019t any urgency to buy, and it feels risky to some because some of the tariffs will result in job losses.<\/p>\n<p>Will there be a recession?
