Funny Things My 3 Year Old Has Said Recently<\/strong><\/p>\n

Florence, age 3 and a 1\/2, is undeniably hilarious. I don\u2019t want to forget the funny things she says at this age-EVER- so I\u2019m trying to keep a record here<\/a>, just as I did when the boys were small!<\/p>\n

Florence is basically 3 going on 13. Her vocabulary is vast and she sure likes to talk (like her Mama) but remembering what she ays isn\u2019t always easy so I\u2019ve been writing this for weeks!<\/p>\n

Her mind is so sharp, she problem solves with ease and always comes up with smart solutions whether it\u2019s helping her older brother Alexander get ready for school on time (\u2018Hurry up and eat your cereal Xands\u2019) or being empathatic to anyone struggling. She rushed over to rub my back the other day when I said it was sore from sleeping with two and not my usual three pillows! \u2018I\u2019m going to give you a massage\u2019, she announced!<\/p>\n

Whenever she paints and ends up painting her clothes (even with an overcoat on) she always looks up with her Bambi-style eyes and says, \u2018Don\u2019t worry Mummy, we can wash my clothes\u2019. Not sure it\u2019s \u2018we\u2019 and more like \u2018me\u2019.<\/p>\n

She likes to blame the mess, which is mostly down to her, on her brothers, \u2018They don\u2019t tidy up\u2019 she says, \u2018Am I the only one who helps you\u2019? she asks. Hehe!<\/p>\n

Lat night she ran into the lounge from the dining room having spilt smoothie down her white sweater and I remarked how it\u2019s now ruined.<\/p>\n

\u2018I know, we can bleach it, she said She\u2019s not wrong!<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Florence made another smart remark.<\/p>\n

She had overheard me advising Alexander, her 12 year old brother to eat his lunch at school (he went through a phase of skipping it) and that not doing so would affect his moods, making him moody. Florence would ask him on collection every afternoon if he had a good day, bless her!<\/p>\n

Having recently left school, (I\u2019m homeschooling whilst searching for a new school) he\u2019s feeling much happier and has resumed eating lunch again.<\/p>\n

Florence heard me telling my Mum this positive news and remarked, \u2018When he didn\u2019t eat his lunch at school, he was moody\u2019. Her memory and understanding of complex subjects in context, is pretty remarkable!<\/p>\n

Another time, Florence comes rushing into the lounge with apples, oranges, pears, apricots, yoghurts from the fridge and crackers from the cupboard.<\/p>\n

\u2018What are you doing Florence?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m making a hotel Mummy, with a shop. You need a shopping bag so you can buy your shopping\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018What do you sell, Florence?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I sell fruit and toys. Apples, everything, some food, everything\u2019.<\/p>\n

A sweet shopping trip game commenced whilst Florence helped herself to white chocolate \u2018from the shop\u2019. Shop keeper\u2019s prerogative apparently!<\/p>\n

When her brother asked what we were playing, she said, \u2018I\u2019m actually an office worker\u2019! Think that\u2019s the end of the game then! HAHAHAHA!<\/p>\n

Now that the weather is sunnier and the clocks moved forward in March, meaning more daylight hours, getting Florence to bed, is becoming harder than ever.<\/p>\n

\u2018Bedtime Florence\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018But it\u2019s not dark\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s late though\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s not nightime yet\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018It is, the sun is going to sleep soon\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018It isn\u2019t, the sun is still out and I\u2019m not going to bed, OK?\u2019<\/p>\n

This is our conversation every evening, Groundhog Day style!<\/p>\n

She\u2019s also started calling me Mum, I think is from watching Bluey and is definitely not something I can get behind! \u2018Mummy\u2019 please!<\/p>\n

Today we passed a FIAT 500 and she remarked, \u2018Look at that cheeky car\u2019-hahaha, it does look cheeky!<\/p>\n

Reading Judith Kerr\u2019s The Tiger Who Came To Tea<\/a> (a favourite of mine as a child and now Florence), we were discussing the greedy tiger eating everything in Sophie\u2019s house, even drinking the water so she couldn\u2019t run a bath and when I asked Florence who the tiger reminds her of, she said Oliver, her teenage brother! He sure is! We\u2019ve had to almost double our shopping thanks to him and his growing brother!<\/p>\n

Whenever her cheeky brother Alexander plays with her, she will, without fail, at one point or another, bound over towards me, to tell me that, \u201cXands is winding me up\u201d. When I ask her if he\u2019s her best friend though, she never hesitates to reply with an emphatic, \u2018Yes\u2019!<\/p>\n

Definitely a love-hate relationship there.<\/p>\n

I suggested we arrange a day to pick strawberries as the season starts in a few weeks.<\/p>\n

\u2018Just like in Peppa Pig. I\u2019m going to eat ALLLL the strawberries in my basket\u2019!<\/p>\n

Me too Florence, me too!<\/p>\n
