Today Rebekah M Hallberg will share Hope for the Hurting Wife Standing for Your Marriage Alone<\/strong> from her story.<\/p>\n How do I save a failing marriage alone? <\/p>\n That thought came when everything was falling apart a few years back.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t have the heart to wonder, \u2018How can I make my marriage work again?\u2019 because it seemed hopeless.\u00a0 <\/p>\n Doesn\u2019t it take two to fix a marriage?\u00a0 If you have had any of those thoughts then pour a cup of coffee and settle in.\u00a0 <\/p>\n The knock on the door signified what would likely be the end of my marriage (I\u2019m Rebekah M Hallberg) \u2013 at least, that\u2019s what the devil had planned \u2013 no hope.<\/p>\n You see, he quietly came into our marriage in the form of some bad choices. He worked enough harm that our marriage nearly fell apart. In fact, by all worldly standards, our marriage was over. The knock was the final straw. I watched my marriage crumble to a million pieces that day. As I watched it unfold my hear needed hope as I joined many who are standing for your marriage alone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The confusing part was this.\u00a0 By all accounts, we had a strong model of a biblical marriage.\u00a0 What happened?<\/p>\n The choices my husband made behind my back nearly became my undoing.<\/p>\n What I needed was hope for the wife standing for her marriage alone.\u00a0 I remember searching for terms like \u201cmarriage crisis<\/em>\u201d or \u201chope for my marriage<\/em>\u201d when everything fell apart, to no avail. \u00a0The realization that there was nowhere to turn for real, sustained hope was devastating.<\/p>\n Was there no one who wrote about how to overcome a crisis in your marriage?<\/em> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n What is standing for your marriage in this culture?\u00a0\u00a0Had the world\u2019s wisdom to \u201ccut and run\u201d infiltrated our Christian perspective as well? Where was the hope for a godly wife<\/a>\u00a0longing to honor God first?<\/p>\n Regardless of what the culture says, I know that God is for marriage.\u00a0 The culture asks \u201cis marriage worth saving?\u2019 and \u201cWhy are you standing up for your spouse?\u201d.\u00a0 But as a godly wife, I must do things God\u2019s way and trust Him even when I am hurting, even when I am standing for my marriage alone.<\/p>\n Did you find this mid-series?\u00a0 Go back and see what you missed on\u00a0the Hope For Marriage Event Page<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n Isn\u2019t it funny how we ask God one thing only to have Him answer something different?<\/p>\n What I wanted was to ask God how to save your marriage alone.\u00a0 But God wanted to help me grow closer to Him and see the things He wanted to change in me.<\/p>\n I won\u2019t presume to speak for you, but I know that in my own life, it was easier to hinge my hope on the man I see\u00a0<\/em>every day rather than the God who I cannot see.<\/p>\n Anybody else feel that way?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n I put a lot of hope into the tangibles of life \u2013 people, food, shelter \u2013 and it was easier to have that faith in my husband when things were tough, rather than God.<\/p>\n So you can imagine how devastated I was to learn of all that had been going wrong in my marriage behind my back.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Friends, it took a traumatic incident to open my eyes. It took almost complete and utter devastation of my marriage for me to realize that my hope was misplaced.<\/p>\n True hope, the only true hope for a hurting wife, is Jesus Christ.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The only solid foundation for a marriage is Jesus Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n I know the depths of the pain of a marriage in crisis that leaves you standing for your marriage alone. I know the shame and guilt of a marriage that is broken.<\/p>\n But, I know the hope of a God who restores and redeems, and you can know that hope today, too!<\/strong><\/p>\n Let me encourage you, though, that God is in the depths of the pain! When you are asking \u2018how to fight for your marriage alone?\u2019 God is there holding onto you.\u00a0 God is in those moments when you do not know what to do and you simply cry out to Him. When you\u2019re ready to give up<\/a> and throw in the towel, God is there!<\/p>\n Hope for the Hurting Wife<\/strong><\/em><\/a> is a collection of stories of God\u2019s faithfulness in some of the lowest and darkest times in our lives. My co-author, Jen Stults, and I, have been through some marital struggles that cut us to the core. You know where their marriage stands right this minute.\u00a0 Yes, Lord, you see this hurting wife, standing for her marriage alone \u2013 but never alone because you are always with her!<\/em><\/p>\n Lord, we know that we have to trust You with the ultimate outcome of our marriage and each of us are looking for hope for our marriage today. We know Your Word is faithful; we know that You love us; how we long for hope today. Lord, you are a God who restores and redeems. We read in Isaiah 43<\/a> that You have redeemed us and called us by name. <\/em><\/p>\n So, Lord, while we look for hope and search for restoration for our marriage, help us to remember that You are our hope. You are our restoration. You have redeemed us! What a wonderful God You are! <\/em><\/p>\n In Jesus\u2019 name, Amen.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cBut now, thus says the\u00a0Lord<\/span>, your\u00a0Creator, O Jacob,<\/span><\/span> \u201cSince you are\u00a0precious in My sight,<\/span> \u201cDo not call to mind the former things,<\/span> If you have come here today, truly searching, today can be your day of salvation. The Lord sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. He was crucified on the cross, dead and buried, and on the third day, He rose again, He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, waiting for the moment that He comes back to take us home to Heaven.<\/p>\n Jesus died to make a way for us to have eternal life with God the Father. In fact, He died for each of us, not willing that any of us should be without hope.<\/p>\n Whatever heartache you\u2019re carrying today, God wants to take it from you.\u00a0 When you are God\u2019s child you never walk through anything alone.\u00a0 That does not mean a perfect life, restored marriage or happily ever after<\/a>.\u00a0 No, but it means that when marriage is hard, when you are standing for your marriage alone<\/strong>, God is with you.<\/p>\n \u201cCome to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.\u00a0 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.\u00a0 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.\u201d (Matthew 11:28-30<\/a> NASB)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Have you accepted God\u2019s free gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus?\u00a0 Today is your day of Hope! All you need to do is simply pray this prayer with me. Thank You for the free gift of salvation that you offer to me. I accept this gift, I choose today to have You be the Lord of my life. I choose today to have You as my Hope.
