I used to think that strong faith meant you never felt tired.<\/p>\n
That if you were really close to God, you\u2019d always wake up joyful, have a steady peace in the chaos, and never feel like quitting. But life has a way of challenging our expectations. Somewhere between the early mornings, endless responsibilities, emotional exhaustion, and the silent weight of unanswered prayers\u2014I found myself worn out.<\/p>\n
Not just physically, but spiritually<\/strong>.<\/p>\n I loved Jesus, but I felt empty<\/a>. I believed in God\u2019s promises, but I was tired of waiting. I still showed up to church, still prayed, still tried\u2014but inside, my flame was flickering.<\/p>\n I was burned out\u2026 but somehow, still burning.<\/p>\n If you\u2019ve ever felt like that\u2014like your faith is hanging on by a thread\u2014I want you to know you\u2019re not alone. And more than that, I want to remind you: burnout isn\u2019t the end.<\/strong><\/p>\n In Matthew 25<\/em>, Jesus tells the parable of ten virgins waiting for the bridegroom. Five were wise\u2014they brought oil to keep their lamps burning. The other five didn\u2019t bring enough, and when the bridegroom finally arrived, their lights had gone out.<\/p>\n For a long time, I read that story with fear. I didn\u2019t want to be unprepared. But more recently, I\u2019ve come to see it differently\u2014not as a threat, but as a gentle reminder: stay filled<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Oil in Scripture often symbolizes the Holy Spirit, anointing, and God\u2019s presence. But the picture also paints a practical truth\u2014if you\u2019re going to shine, you have to refill.<\/strong> You can\u2019t pour from an empty vessel. You can\u2019t keep burning without fuel.<\/p>\n We need time in His Word. We need quiet moments to pray. We need encouragement from fellow believers. And sometimes, we just need space to breathe<\/a>.<\/p>\n I\u2019ll be honest\u2014during one of my lowest seasons, I found it hard to even open my Bible. But I remembered the story of the wise virgins, and I started asking God, \u201cPlease refill me. Even if I can\u2019t do much, help me hold onto the light.\u201d<\/p>\n One day while reading, I came across a photo of olive oil lamps<\/a> like the kind used in biblical times. They were small and simple\u2014just clay, oil, and flame. Nothing flashy. But they burned long through the night because they stayed connected to their source.<\/p>\n That visual stuck with me. I realized I didn\u2019t have to be perfect. I didn\u2019t have to shine brightly all the time. Tell Him how tired you are. He\u2019s not disappointed in your weakness. He\u2019s inviting you to rest in Him.<\/p>\n You don\u2019t need a two-hour devotion. Start with one verse. One prayer. One quiet moment. Let that be your oil for today.<\/p>\n Sometimes, visual reminders can rekindle faith. Whether it\u2019s a cross on your wall or a lit candle, or even something tangible like those olive oil lamps from the Holy Land, God can use the smallest things to whisper, \u201cI\u2019m still with you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The enemy loves when we retreat into silence. Find one person you can be honest with. We weren\u2019t meant to walk this road alone.<\/p>\n If your flame is weak, it\u2019s still there. That little spark is enough for God to work with. He\u2019s the God who fans tiny embers into revival fires.<\/p>\n Sister, don\u2019t give up.<\/p>\n You might be weary, you might be doubting, but you are still burning. And that means there\u2019s hope. The same God who sustained Elijah with bread from ravens, who met Hagar in the desert, and who filled lamps with oil before the bridegroom arrived\u2014He sees you. He will refill you.<\/strong><\/p>\n So light your lamp again, even if it\u2019s dim.<\/p>\n And remember\u2014God never asked you to shine like the sun.
