For a lot of folks, Oxford is a bit of a haul \u2013 it turns it into a full day trip for some of you that weekend \u2013 and if you ask me\u2026 that\u2019s sort of the point. Spend your time there. Aside from the hectic chaos of Miami University, when the students are there, there are some really cool things happening in Oxford that you have to check out.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe this will give you the chance to do just that.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Misrule Brewing<\/h2>\n<p>Misrule is years in the making. They\u2019ve been collaborating with other local breweries and planning on this concept for a LONG time, and finally have a taproom space right in Oxford on High Street. I know that a lot of this city\u2019s beer fans haven\u2019t been there, yet \u2013 heck\u2026 I haven\u2019t been there yet (hopefully that\u2019s changed by the time you read this) and I\u2019m OBSESSED with this stuff.<\/p>\n<p>They opened their doors in early April of this year, and while I can come up with all sorts of excuses for someone to swing by and have a beer, being in town for a festival is pretty much the perfect one.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steinkeller<\/h2>\n<p>There is no way that I can write about Oxford, Ohio, without giving a high five and a shoutout to one of my favorite bars in Greater Cincinnati, Steinkeller. I\u2019ve written about them before\u2026 but if you weren\u2019t paying attention, and still haven\u2019t been for a stein or two \u2013 I think it\u2019s time to remedy that.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a German restaurant, a beer hall, tucked away in a basement that makes you feel like you\u2019re thousands of miles away from Oxford, Ohio. A trip to Steins makes you so grateful that we have a gem like this\u2026 and so desperate to make your visits more frequent.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This Year\u2019s Festival<\/h2>\n<p>As mentioned earlier, this year\u2019s festival takes place on May 31st and will run from 2-10 pm that day. For the second year in a row, they\u2019ll be shutting down High Street, which absolutely transforms the city and the park downtown into a haven for drinkers and their families to spend the day.<\/p>\n<p>There really isn\u2019t a better way to kick off the summer than with a festival like this.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll find a beer garden packed full of tons of really spectacular local beer, including beers from:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Brink<\/li>\n<li>Cartridge<\/li>\n<li>Sonder<\/li>\n<li>Misrule<\/li>\n<li>Third Eye<\/li>\n<li>Swine City<\/li>\n<li>Bushrod (they\u2019re up in Eaton)<\/li>\n<li>Taft\u2019s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It certainly wouldn\u2019t be a WINE and beer festival, though, without some great wine to go along with that, right? You\u2019ll find:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hanover Winery<\/li>\n<li>Olde Schoolhouse Winery<\/li>\n<li>Vintage Winery<br \/>As well as some other wine offerings from Heidelberg will be there, too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With live entertainment all day, a kids area to keep the family happy, more than 30 local artisan vendors and over a dozen food vendors right on site (Graeter\u2019s, Holey Donuts!, Schmidts Sausage, Just Jerks, Loaded Goat Cafe, Jollys, Sorriso Pizza By The Slice\u2026 and more) \u2013 there\u2019s a lot to keep you busy!<\/p>\n<p>Go. Enjoy.
