Being able to move and to be adaptive in the vineyards was imperative with 2024 Bordeaux. Also, utilizing the density bath for sorting at Mouton Rothschild made a difference that you can taste and feel in the wine.“

2024 Mouton Rothschild – Pauillac – Cigar box, flowers, black currants, blackberries, espresso, licorice, spice box, and forest leaves initiate the wine’s complex aromatics. On the palate, the wine is almost creamy, exhibiting freshness, energy, length, and purity. This upbeat wine is chalky, complex, and enhanced with sweetness, an array of spices, and more of those juicy, fresh currants in the refreshing, mint-tinged finish. I particularly enjoy the Indian spice notes that emerge at the backend of the finish. The wine consists of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot. Only 2010 had a higher percentage of Cabernet in the blend. 12.9% ABV, 3.77 pH. 44.5% of the harvest was placed into the Grand Vin. The harvest took place September 23 – October 5.
