Sadly Honda is saying goodbye to the Civic Type R in Europe, but it\u2019s unveiled a new Ultimate Edition has the perfect send off for the iconic hot hatch.<\/p>\n

\"Honda<\/figure>\n

The big question is why is Honda discontinuing the Civic Type R in Europe? According to Hannah Swift, Head of European Strategy and Product at Honda Motor Europe, \u201cThe\u00a0industry is changing,\u00a0and\u00a0our model range\u00a0is having to evolve with it\u00a0in accordance with\u00a0European legislation.\u201d That essentially means that emissions regulations have forced Honda to drop the Civic Type R.<\/p>\n

The Civic Type R Ultimate Edition features red decals across the hood and side, a black roof and a carbon fiber rear wing. Inside carbon fiber has been applied to the center console. When you open the front doors a Type R logo is projected onto the ground. Honda plans to only build 40 units of the Ultimate Edition.<\/p>\n

Owners\u00a0will also receive a unique\u00a0matching\u00a0gift box\u00a0containing\u00a0a numbered emblem \u2013 from one to 40\u00a0\u2013\u00a0and\u00a0a carbon key ring,\u00a0alongside\u00a0custom-made floor mats,\u00a0and a car cover.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
