Discovering your first grey hair can be a surprise \u2014 but finding one in your pubic area? That might be even more unexpected.\u2019 <\/p>\n

It may not be one of those topics we talk about over coffee with friends or at the bus stop with other school mums, but finding a grey pubic hair is completely normal. And, like it or not, as you age, you may even find the greys outnumbering the rest.<\/p>\n

Why Does Pubic Hair Turn Grey?<\/h2>\n

Just like the hair on your head, pubic hair can turn grey as a natural part of the aging process. This change is due to a decrease in melanin production, the pigment responsible for hair color.<\/p>\n

Factors such as stress, smoking, and certain medical conditions can also contribute to premature greying.<\/p>\n

Usually it\u2019s your nose hairs that grey first. The hair on your head comes next, followed by body hair and eyebrows. Scientifically, the grey is a result of your hair losing its colour, rather than changing colour, and it\u2019s not a reversible process.<\/p>\n

Plucking<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you only discover one or two, plucking is probably the simplest removal method. While hair experts advise against plucking hairs from your head (continued plucking can cause the hair to stop growing in that area) you may consider it a risk worth taking, when it comes to your nether region.<\/p>\n

Just remember that frequent plucking can lead to skin irritation or ingrown hairs. It\u2019s essential to use sanitised tweezers and follow up with soothing skincare.<\/p>\n

Dyeing<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Yes, it is possible to dye pubic hair, but don\u2019t use regular hair dye. Betty Beauty has a line of hair dye called color for the hair down there. It is a well-known brand and they have fun colours available such as pink, aqua blue, lilac and red. I believe there are more so check them out.<\/p>\n

Waxing<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Removing grey hairs through waxing offers longer-lasting results compared to shaving.<\/p>\n
