CAIR Condemn Nazi Swastika Mowed into Illinois Lawn \u2014 CAIR-Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.squarespace-cdn.com\/content\/v1\/5aeb7bb8e2ccd14dfc3d03ff\/1d1a3c68-e11e-45c5-b101-ed20b0a2787f\/CAIR-Condemns-Nazi-Swastika-Mowed-into-Illinois-Lawn.jpeg?format=1500w\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\"><strong>(CHICAGO, IL, 6\/4\/25)<\/strong> \u2013 The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), a chapter of the nation\u2019s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization (CAIR), today condemned\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstalert4.com\/2025\/06\/03\/swastika-mowed-into-metro-east-lawn-antisemitic-attacks-other-hate-crimes-rise\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\">a Nazi swastika mowed into the grass of a residential lawn in Illinois<\/span><\/a><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">Authorities in Alhambra, Illinois, are investigating whether the act qualifies as a hate crime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">Yesterday,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cair.com\/press_releases\/cair-pittsburgh-condemns-racist-neo-nazi-vandalism-of-murals\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\">CAIR\u2019s Pittsburgh chapter condemned the racist and neo-Nazi defacement of two public murals<\/span><\/a><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">\u00a0by Pittsburgh-based artist Kyle Holbrook, known nationally for his powerful works on social justice and community unity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\"><em>\u201cThe Nazi swastika is a symbol of hate and genocide that have no place in a civilized society,\u201d<\/em> said\u00a0<strong>Ahmed Rehab, Executive Director of CAIR-Chicago.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">In a statement,\u00a0<strong>CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper\u00a0<\/strong>said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\"><em>\u201cWe condemn this apparent act of neo-Nazi hate and urge law enforcement authorities and community leaders in Illinois and nationwide to take the promotion of bigotry seriously and to address it whenever and wherever it occurs.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in<\/span><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cair.com\/?s=Nazi\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\">solidarity with all those challenging<\/span><\/a><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">\u00a0antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cair.com\/?post_type=post&amp;s=White+Supremacist\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--black\">white supremacy<\/span><\/a><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">, and all other forms of bigotry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><span class=\"sqsrte-text-color--lightAccent\">For Chicago &amp;
