of her credentials and experience.\u00a0 The hiring manager did this because he felt like he was supposed to do it, but without thinking about how he would feel if he were treated that style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0);text-decoration:inherit\"><span>Imagine his boss finds out and is unhappy about it to his surprise.\u00a0 He tells the hiring manager he should have hired the woman for that position.\u00a0 The next time around, the hiring manager decides to hire a woman for the position.\u00a0 However, unlike the last situation, the male candidate had more relevant credentials and experience.\u00a0 The hiring manager did this because he felt like it was what he was supposed to do on some superficial level, just like the last time.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-breakout=\"normal\">\n<p class=\"OsDxK iJUzK _178TK Bb686\" dir=\"auto\" id=\"viewer-qmy5o354\"><span class=\"JtXdA\"><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0);text-decoration:inherit\"><span>The hiring manager actually did the same thing wrong in two opposite ways.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t a matter of hiring a man or a woman that was the problem, although that is how he ended up seeing it. \u00a0The real problem was that he was being unfair and self-centered in his thinking, doing what he thought he was supposed to do on some shallow level for his own good without thinking about how he was treating another human
