Archer Aviation has launched the next phase of its Midnight flight test campaign, after successfully conducting a piloted flight that demonstrated the vertical and conventional takeoff and landing capabilities of its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The flight was carried out by Archer\u2019s Chief Test Pilot Jeff Greenwood and included conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL), showcasing the robustness and versatility of Midnight\u2019s landing gear and flight control systems. The aircraft reached speeds of up to 200 km\/h (125 mph) and flew at altitudes exceeding 460 meters (1,500 feet) above ground level.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThis phase builds on years of autonomous flight testing that validated our 12 tilt-6 VTOL configuration,\u201d said Adam Goldstein, CEO and founder of Archer. \u201cMidnight\u2019s CTOL and VTOL capabilities are a strong differentiator for us, as they enable flexible, safe operations across diverse environments.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the coming weeks, Archer\u2019s test pilots will focus on validating Midnight\u2019s flight control responsiveness, stability, and aerodynamic performance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
