Many of the faucets were sold without proper safety certifications or source labeling.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_this_matters_for_families\"\/>Why this matters for families<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>Lead exposure is particularly harmful during pregnancy and early childhood, when the brain and nervous system are still developing. Even low levels of lead can contribute to behavioral problems, learning delays, and reduced IQ. Check your Amazon orders<\/strong> for any of the faucet brands listed above. Look for faucets that comply with<strong> NSF\/ANSI Standard 61.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Stop using the faucet:<\/strong> If you have one of the affected models, discontinue use immediately.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. As a daily habit, run your faucet for at least 15 seconds<\/strong> first thing in the morning, at night, or anytime it hasn\u2019t been used for six hours or more. Flushing helps minimize the water\u2019s contact time with any lead that may be present in the plumbing.<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>Use only cold water<\/strong> for drinking, cooking, and preparing baby formula.\u00a0Boiling water does not remove lead from water.<\/p>\n<p>5. <strong>Clean or replace the aerator (the small screen at the tip of the faucet) regularly,<\/strong> especially if you\u2019re using the water for drinking or cooking. Sediment and particles can build up there over time.<\/p>\n<p>6. Visit <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/safewater\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">epa.gov\/safewater<\/a> for more tips on lead safety in your home.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_bottom_line\"\/>The bottom line<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p>This news may feel alarming, but you\u2019re not alone.
