We need to make sure everyone\u2019s clear on this so nobody can say they didn\u2019t know after history unpacks this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Netanyahu has made it\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2025\/05\/21\/netanyahu-says-trumps-ethnic-cleansing-plan-is-a-condition-to-end-gaza-war\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">completely and unambiguously clear<\/a>\u00a0that even if Hamas surrendered today and released every single hostage, Trump\u2019s ethnic cleansing plan\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/liveblog_entry\/netanyahu-implementation-of-trumps-gaza-relocation-plan-is-condition-for-ending-war\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">will still need to be implemented<\/a>\u00a0as a precondition for ending the mass slaughter. To be absolutely 100 percent clear, Trump\u2019s plan for Gaza is that \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShaykhSulaiman\/status\/1886906083052339570\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">all<\/a>\u201d Palestinians be removed on a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2025\/02\/10\/trump-says-no-right-of-return-for-palestinians-in-gaza-under-his-plan\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">permanent<\/a>\u201d basis, never allowed to return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no way to permanently remove all Palestinians from a Palestinian territory without material coercion\u200a\u2014\u200ameaning more mass scale violence and siege warfare. There is also no way to argue that this mass displacement would be voluntary even without further violence, since Israel has been deliberately and systematically making the Gaza Strip uninhabitable by destroying civilian infrastructure. Forcing them to choose between starvation in an uninhabitable wasteland or submit to ethnic cleansing is exactly the same as forcing them out at gunpoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was obvious that this was Israel\u2019s plan for Gaza in October 2023; plans to move the civilian population out of the enclave were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2023\/10\/30\/leaked-israeli-intelligence-ministry-document-proposes-complete-ethnic-cleansing-of-gaza\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">already being circulated<\/a>\u00a0within\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mondoweiss.net\/2023\/10\/israeli-think-tank-lays-out-a-blueprint-for-the-complete-ethnic-cleansing-of-gaza\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">days of the onslaught<\/a>. But that wasn\u2019t Israel\u2019s official and openly stated policy until the Trump administration; now that Israel is clearly and explicitly stating this agenda in public, there is absolutely no excuse for anyone to continue circulating the lie that the suffering of the people of Gaza ends if Hamas surrenders. What happens is that their homeland will be permanently taken away from them as they are shipped off to a foreign land, and Gaza will cease to exist as a Palestinian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s not peace. Or if it is it\u2019s the peace of an empty room; the peace of a room full of corpses. Saying you made peace by removing the Palestinians from Palestine is like saying you settled an argument by decapitating one of the arguers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s the only \u201cpeace\u201d the people of Palestine will experience if Hamas lays down its arms. Losing everything they\u2019ve ever known forever, on pain of death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is the inconvenient truth people are trying to hide when they say \u201cThis all ends when Hamas surrenders and releases the hostages.\u201d That is the deception they are sowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2756<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Israel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2025\/may\/24\/israeli-airstrike-kills-nine-of-gaza-doctors-10-children-reports-say\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bombed the home<\/a>\u00a0of two married doctors in Gaza on Friday, killing nine of their children and critically injuring their sole surviving son. The father of the children was also severely injured in the attack, while their mother, while still working at the nearby hospital, received the charred bodies of her children. They were too badly burned to be recognized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This one incident, just by itself, is vastly more newsworthy and deserving of attention than two Israeli embassy staff members being\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caitlinjohnst.one\/p\/thoughts-on-the-israeli-embassy-staff\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">killed in Washington<\/a>. But news coverage hasn\u2019t reflected this, because Palestinians aren\u2019t regarded as human beings in the mainstream western press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2756<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">She heard a Muslim listening to a Muslim sermon on the radio and it made her feel scared because she&#8217;s a racist, and now she wants all American Jews to have firearms. That&#8217;s her whole entire story. What is it doing to us as a society?<\/a>\u201d, which is noteworthy because it somehow never mentions the word \u201cIsrael\u201d or \u201cIsraeli\u201d one single time throughout the entire article. It doesn\u2019t even mention Netanyahu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a particularly glaring example of the way the western press have been discussing the Gaza holocaust as some kind of unfortunate tragedy that is just passively happening to the Palestinian people, as though it\u2019s a natural disaster or something. It\u2019s like bombs and siege warfare are just the weather over there. Like \u201cOh it\u2019s a bit bomby and faminy in Gaza today, and it makes me feel sad!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This genocide is exposing the mass media like nothing else in my lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2756<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Israel supporters have different packages of apologia for each ideological group, with different narratives explaining why Israel\u2019s abuses are justified to all the different groups in language designed to appeal to each faction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you a progressive humanitarian? Israel apologists have a narrative package custom designed to appeal to your support for the Jewish people and the revulsion you feel toward their historic persecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you a conservative who\u2019s fearful of Muslims and terrorism? Israel apologists have a completely different package of narratives designed to appeal to your fears and explain why Islamic extremism must be defeated to protect western civilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you a fundamentalist Christian? There\u2019s a whole other package of narratives designed to explain why support for Israel is actually commanded by God in the Holy Bible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you a fascist who thinks Arabs should be wiped off the face of the earth? Boy howdy do the Israel apologists ever have some narratives for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Israel apologists understand that different political factions are responsive to different types of messaging, so each political faction gets its own messaging package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only ones they can\u2019t effectively target with carefully constructed narratives are the groups who are already forcefully pro-Palestine, predominantly on the leftmost end of the political spectrum. So they just work on silencing, stigmatizing and marginalizing those groups instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s all about controlling the narrative. Israel apologists understand the power of narrative control better than perhaps any other major ideological faction on earth, and you see it at play throughout every facet of our society.
