That letter was titled <i>The Address of Gen. Washington to the People of America on His Declining the Presidency of the United States<\/i>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color: white; color: #292929; font-family: charter, Georgia, Cambria, &quot;Times New Roman&quot;, Times, serif; font-size: 21px; letter-spacing: -0.063px;\">It was immediately reprinted in newspapers throughout the country.
