Ever since Rooster Fighter by Shu Sakuratani started serialization, it has consistently caught my attention, popping up every few months in different ways. Finally, I decided to give it a read, and my immediate reaction was, “What in the actual cluck did I just experience?” The wild premise, combined with the over-the-top execution, left me simultaneously baffled and intrigued. Let me break it down further—oh, and yes, the pun is absolutely intentional. But first let’s have a look on the overview and some main and other characters of Roaster Fighter Manga.

Overview

"Roaster"Roaster

Three years ago, mutant demons began appearing in Japan, some harmless and helpful, and others more intelligent and dangerous. These demons, created from humans suffering from emotional distress or unresolved trauma, began to wreak havoc. A lone rooster named Keiji, a comically strong and hard-boiled rooster, seeks revenge on the mysterious giant demons called Kijuu. Along the way, he meets other animals who are just as brutal and intelligent. The story is told like an epic samurai saga, with themes similar to Kaiju No. 8 or One-Punch Man. Keiji’s ultimate goal is to find and kill the mutant dubbed “The White Demon” who killed his sister to avenge her death.
