Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has today put into operation its four new rapid exit taxiways (RETs), which link the runway to the parallel taxiway, which was formerly a temporary inserted runway. The RETs are specially designed taxiways that allow aircraft to exit the runway at higher speeds than normal, typically between 75 and 110 kilometres per hour, enhancing runway capacity and efficiency. The RETs have been built at a shallow angle to the runway, enabling aircraft to vacate it quickly without coming to a near stop. They reduce the runway occupancy time. As of today, Belgrade Airport operates a single runway (12L-30R) with RET R1-R4 and two runway-long parallel taxiways.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
