{"id":257240,"date":"2025-05-26T01:20:42","date_gmt":"2025-05-26T01:20:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/activist\/jpmorgan-to-allow-clients-to-buy-bitcoin-says-jamie-dimon\/"},"modified":"2025-05-26T01:20:42","modified_gmt":"2025-05-26T01:20:42","slug":"jpmorgan-to-allow-clients-to-buy-bitcoin-says-jamie-dimon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=257240","title":{"rendered":"JPMorgan to Allow Clients to Buy Bitcoin, Says Jamie Dimon"},"content":{"rendered":" \r\n<br><div>\n\n                                        \n\n\n<p><em>A longtime vocal critic of bitcoin, Dimon said the bank he runs will now let clients to buy the crypto.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-to-know\">What to know:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>JPMorgan Chase will soon let clients buy bitcoin, though the bank won\u2019t custody the asset, CEO Jamie Dimon said.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dimon reiterated his skepticism toward crypto, calling himself \u201cnot a fan\u201d of bitcoin due to its use in illicit activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Despite downplaying blockchain\u2019s importance, JPMorgan\u2019s Kinexys platform recently tested tokenized U.S. Treasury settlement on a public blockchain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Clients of JPMorgan Chase (JPM) will soon have the option to buy bitcoin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/price\/bitcoin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BTC$106,663.37<\/a>, according to CEO Jamie Dimon, who spoke at the bank\u2019s annual Investor Day on Monday, signaling a shift in how the firm approaches the asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are going to allow you to buy it,\u201d Dimon told shareholders, though he added the bank has no plans to hold the asset in custody.<\/p><div class=\"g g-1\"><div class=\"g-single a-14\"><a class=\"gofollow\" data-track=\"MTQsMSwxLDYw\" href=\"https:\/\/shop.davidwolfe.com\/?ref=CHARLIEROBINSON\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"183\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.activistpost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/David-Avocado-Wolfe-Logo.png\"\/><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dimon,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2025\/01\/13\/jamie-dimon-still-sees-no-value-in-bitcoin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">long known for his skepticism of cryptocurrency<\/a>, doubled down in his closing remarks, saying he\u2019s still \u201cnot a fan\u201d of bitcoin, mainly because of its use for illegal activities, including sex trafficking and money laundering<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also pushed back on the industry\u2019s hype around blockchain technology, arguing it\u2019s less important than it\u2019s made out to be \u2014 even as JPMorgan continues building in the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have been talking about blockchain for 12 to 15 years,\u201d he said. \u201cWe spend too much on it.
