With tired eyes and cold, stiff hands, we gather-round the galley table, refueling ourselves on gratitude and grace for the moment, the purpose, the bountiful Alaskan waters, the pursuit. <strong>Thank you ocean, thank you fish\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cedar Planked Salmon\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1944\/0835\/files\/IMG_4006_1024x1024.JPG?v=1509653547\" style=\"float: none;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u2026Back on terra firma after the sun-up-to-sun-down-and-then-some commercial fishing season has come to an end, my partner Taran and I bring a small portion of our catch home, sharing our pursuit with the local community we love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1944\/0835\/files\/IMG_4038_1024x1024.JPG?v=1509653624\" alt=\"Grilled Salmon\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This abundance of salmon is one of which we too never tire! The secret: try different recipes, utilize what\u2019s seasonal, draw inspiration from global cuisine. Switch. It. Up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1944\/0835\/files\/IMG_4030_1024x1024.JPG?v=1509653690\" alt=\"Mushroom Gremolata\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There are so many ways to plate wild salmon, and we are always eager to pull ideas from our customers who have their favorite go-to\u2019s and know-how\u2019s. This particular recipe was inspired by one of our lovely Thunder\u2019s Catch customers, Terry, who shared with me her recipe for a Mushroom Gremolata. I adapted it here, and paired it with my take on one of our favorite rubs, Tom Douglas\u2019 Rub With Love \u2013 forever a galley staple on the F\/V Thunder.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1944\/0835\/files\/IMG_3975_1024x1024.JPG?v=1509653759\" alt=\"Salmon Rub\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Stay wild, good friends\u2026and bon app\u00e9tit! \u2013 KB.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p><em>Kara is a fisherman and Co-Founder of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thunderscatch.com\/\">Thunder\u2019s Catch Seafood<\/a>, owned and operated out of Sandpoint, Idaho.
