Yaro is a serial entrepreneur, blogger, podcaster, angel investor and digital nomad.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

When I was in high school I was forced to get up at 6:30am to do a 1.5 hour commute to school.<\/p>\n

I hated it. I especially hated my alarm clock.<\/p>\n

I promised myself that when I was older I\u2019d never need an alarm again.<\/p>\n

I kept that promise.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve slept-in for the past 25 years.<\/p>\n

Whenever I\u2019ve seen \u2018early to rise\u2019 productivity trends I always laugh.<\/p>\n

Not for me.<\/p>\n

Are You Lazy?<\/h2>\n

I recently moved into a new place in Vancouver with my girlfriend.<\/p>\n

She gets up at 6:30am for her job as a doctor.<\/p>\n

Most of her life she\u2019s been around people with jobs.<\/p>\n

The only time you sleep-in is on weekends.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s had a bit of trouble coming to terms with my sleep schedule.<\/p>\n

On several occasions, with a worried expression on her face, she\u2019s asked me \u2013<\/p>\n

Are you lazy?<\/em><\/p>\n

Naturally she wants an ambitious, hard working, money-earning partner.<\/p>\n

While I consider myself all of those things, the time of day I wake up or even the amount of hours I work, have never been deciding factors.<\/p>\n

Since the day I became an entrepreneur I\u2019ve been on the hunt for\u00a0leverage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I built systems.<\/p>\n

I hired help.<\/p>\n

I focused on simple business models.<\/p>\n

I aimed to avoid high-stress situations.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t rush towards growth, sacrificing everything for it, including sleep.<\/p>\n

All that being said, I LOVE making money.<\/p>\n

To this day, receiving a\u00a0\u2018you made a sale\u2019<\/em>\u00a0email is still my all time favorite thing.<\/p>\n

And I want more of those emails!<\/p>\n

I crave growth. I want to hit bigger money milestones.<\/p>\n

But I won\u2019t sacrifice physical health for financial wealth.<\/p>\n

Hence sleep has always been at the top of my values.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t enjoy life when tired.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t grow my business when sleep deprived.<\/p>\n

Getting More From Less<\/h2>\n

For over a decade with my teaching business, the core concept I promoted was this \u2013<\/p>\n

I wanted to show people that if you do a few key things each day as a content creator you can make a six figure income.<\/p>\n

As I grew my business to over a million dollars the idea of getting more from less didn\u2019t change.<\/p>\n

My business had to expand \u2013 and there was far more than 2 hours a day of work to do \u2013 but with the help of technology and people, you can remain the visionary and the strategist.<\/p>\n

Let the specialists handle execution.<\/p>\n

For this to work you have make a commitment\u2026<\/p>\n

You must remove yourself from the day-to-day operations of your business.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The best starting point is hiring an executive assistant.<\/p>\n

I hired one to handle email first.<\/p>\n

By taking over email, they naturally expanded to all the tasks that come through the inbox, including:<\/p>\n

  • Supporting clients<\/li>\n
  • Research<\/li>\n
  • Event planning<\/li>\n
  • Proofreading<\/li>\n
  • Onboarding processes<\/li>\n
  • Working with contractors
    \u2026 and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Every routine task I delegated to them.<\/p>\n

    These were important tasks, even tasks I initially thought impossible for someone else to take over.<\/p>\n

    Over time I hired more people to help with other specialized tasks.<\/p>\n

    • A person for website changes.<\/li>\n
    • Talent for video editing and graphic design.<\/li>\n
    • A copywriter, affiliate manager, pay per click ads consultant, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Today my current business runs without me.<\/p>\n

      We have a team of 80 people who do everything for our clients.<\/p>\n

      I oversee the marketing department.<\/p>\n

      In that role I mostly strategize and check-in with other people.<\/p>\n

      This wasn\u2019t always the case of course.<\/p>\n

      We had to build our way here.<\/p>\n

      You need cash to pay your team, so expanding has to be incremental.<\/p>\n

      As you get your own time back and expanded productivity from a team of people, more cash comes in.<\/p>\n

      It\u2019s the only way to grow.<\/p>\n

      It\u2019s also how you get to wake up at 10am every day, if that\u2019s important to you.<\/p>\n

      Delegate and scale\u2026\u00a0and sleep in!<\/em><\/p>\n
