Some of the biggest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/opinion\/op-ed\/saving-traditional-varieties-of-seeds\/article69446064.ece\">media<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>CGIAR tries to do it by calling them an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgiar.org\/cgiar-research-porfolio-2025-2030\/genebanks\/\">Accelerator<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>IIED tries to do it by saying even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iied.org\/22629iied\">botanic gardens can help farmers<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>SwissAid thinks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swissaid.ch\/en\/articles\/seeds-at-risk\/\">&#8220;[n]ational and international gene banks should give farmers\u2019 organizations low-threshold access to their collections.&#8221;<\/a> No argument there.<\/li>\n<li>Maybe we should have songs about genebanks, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/longform\/2025\/4\/30\/with-song-and-seed-brazils-indigenous-maxakali-confront-climate-change\">Maxakali have about the Atlantic Forest<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Or we could just talk about <a href=\"https:\/\/news.mongabay.com\/video\/2025\/04\/how-a-remote-diner-in-india-is-fueling-a-culinary-and-ecological-revival\/\">food<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/foodanthro.com\/2025\/04\/04\/review-ark-of-taste-kenya\/\">food<\/a>, glorious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cYIdfWEwNi8\">food<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Could also just fall back on the good old canonical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mofga.org\/news\/apple-discovery-announcement\/\">lost-heirloom-apple-found<\/a> story.<\/li>\n<li>Or the canonical medical case for &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/emedicalhub.com\/ancient-grains-like-millet-why-theyre-making-a-comeback-in-diets\/\">ancient grains<\/a>&#8221; story.<\/li>\n<li>Though even there the <a href=\"https:\/\/seedsavers.org\/what-are-heirloom-seeds\/\">heirlooms<\/a> vs <a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/seedsystemsgroup\/april2025\">hybrids<\/a> debate will rage I suppose&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>But, whatever we do, let&#8217;s not take it to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202504\/1332059.shtml\">extremes<\/a>, shall we?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All of IFAD&#8217;s 5 investments that will help nourish the world need crop diversity.
