The plan has been slammed as a transparent attempt to use food to lure Gaza\u2019s starving population southward into a concentrated area to prepare them for deportation, i.e. ethnic cleansing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We were taught about Anne Frank so it would never happen again, and every day I open this app and see the last words of countless new Anne Franks in real time\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/i3xLDoYhb7\">pic.twitter.com\/i3xLDoYhb7<\/a><\/p>\u2014 onagapnotsew (@westonpagano) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/westonpagano\/status\/1923202375541510256?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 16, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br\/>If Gaza was populated by Jews and the people massacring its inhabitants were Muslims, nobody would have any trouble calling this thing what it is. The words \u201cgenocide\u201d and \u201cHolocaust\u201d would\u2019ve been appearing in the news every single day for the last 19 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Except we all know it wouldn\u2019t have gone on for 19 months. In the eyes of the western empire, there are some people who may be murdered with mass military violence, and others who may not be. There are some types of children who can be photographed with their ribcages sticking out because of deliberately inflicted starvation without causing much of a stir, and there are other types of children for whom such photographs would shake the earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the eyes of the western empire, Jews are considered fully human, while Muslims and Arabs are not. A massacre of Jews is a terrible, unforgivable atrocity which cries out to the heavens for limitless vengeance, while Israel\u2019s daily massacres of Palestinians merit nothing more than a footnote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Gaza was populated by Jews and the people conducting these daily massacres were Muslims, the western empire would have long ago intervened to stop this. Instead we get swamp monsters like Steve Witkoff\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2025\/05\/15\/report-witkoff-told-mediators-that-the-us-wont-force-israel-to-end-gaza-slaughter\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recycling<\/a>\u00a0the bogus\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jacobin.com\/2023\/11\/biden-administration-powerlessness-israel-gaza-war-military-aid-media\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Biden administration line<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cthe Israeli government is a sovereign government; they can\u2019t tell us what to do and we can\u2019t tell them what to do,\u201d and Secretary of State Marco Rubio\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.antiwar.com\/2025\/05\/15\/un-rejects-us-and-israeli-backed-aid-plan-for-gaza\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">saying he\u2019s \u201cconcerned\u201d<\/a>\u00a0about the humanitarian situation in Gaza but doesn\u2019t see any alternatives\u200a\u2014\u200ajust like his predecessor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.al-monitor.com\/originals\/2024\/05\/blinken-says-deep-concerns-about-israeli-rafah-operations-impact-aid\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Antony Blinken<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sUE9e_saO_Y\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">constantly<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jns.org\/blinken-concerned-over-israels-cutting-of-gaza-aid\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">did<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Secretary of State Rubio spoke on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza<\/p>\u2014 Barak Ravid (@BarakRavid) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BarakRavid\/status\/1923059433199788209?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 15, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br\/>It\u2019s so glaringly, painfully obvious what we\u2019re looking at. So completely blatant and undisguised. The only thing keeping people from seeing this genocide for what it is and calling a spade a spade is the fact that its victims happen to belong to a religion and an ethnicity that has been systematically dehumanized for decades in order to justify the acts of mass military violence that have been aggressively normalized in our collective psychology. Westerners have been indoctrinated by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/2023\/06\/05\/caitlin-johnstone-15-reasons-why-media-dont-do-journalism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">domestic propaganda<\/a>\u00a0into seeing Arabs and Muslims as less than human, in much the same way\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_ZachFoster\/status\/1920950574868001022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Israelis themselves have been<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s so gross and uncomfortable to have to keep finding new ways to say \u201cImagine if this was happening to a population you actually care about,\u201d but it seems like that\u2019s the only way a lot of people are going to open their eyes and look at this thing. Until you begin to entertain the possibility that the people suffering in Gaza might actually be similar to you and the people you consider human, it\u2019s just going to be a big blind spot for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should not be necessary to do this. It should be obvious to all of us that humans are humans regardless of their race or religion or any other way they might show up as a bit different from us. We should all have been taught this as young children.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that\u2019s where we\u2019re at as a civilization right now. A genocide happening right in front of us, and people like me going \u201cImagine if they belonged to a religion that you HAVEN\u2019T been trained to fear and despise!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s undignified, and it says ugly things about our society that this is still one of the most effective ways to get this message across.
